XFL Names Mike Preacher Vice President and General Manager of San Jose Demons

SAN JOSE, CA/STAMFORD, CT, August 24, 2000 – At a press conference today in San Jose, the XFL announced Michael Preacher as the team’s Vice President – General Manager. The XFL is a new professional football league jointly owned and operated by World Wrestling Federation Entertainment, Inc. (NMSL:WWFE) and NBC.

A former two-time GTE Academic All-American, Mike Preacher comes to the XFL with a solid track record in both sports and entertainment management. He joins the XFL after his fifth year working in the broadcast industry for Entertainment Communications (Entercom), the nation’s fourth largest radio broadcast company.

The XFL is tremendously excited to have found one of the brightest young minds in sports management today,” said Billy Hicks, XFL Vice President of Administration. “We know that Mike Preacher and the San Jose community will form a dynamic team.”

Preacher most recently served as Director of Entercom’s Marketing Results Group where he was responsible for the day to day management. One of Preacher’s key responsibilities was to work with Entercom’s COO and CFO on the development of strategic corporate alliances.

In the early 1990’s, Preacher was a founding front office member of the CFL’s first entry into the Untied States. With the Sacramento Gold Miners, Mike established new standards for CFL sponsorship relations. A graduate of the University of Oregon, Mike still holds several records from his days as an All PAC-10 punter.
