It's gettin' hot in here...and we about to burn 'em up!

Looks like the 2020 XFL champion may be 2-3 seconds short of playing a full season :?

Odd choice. Atlanta United is going to be late season competition for the sports dollar and is drawing twice or more what GSS can hold. In a much nicer venue. But it does create an instant rivalry for Orlando.

JUST IN: @theAAF, the new pro football league that will debut next February, has named its second city and coach.

A team will play in ATLANTA and will be coached by former Minnesota Vikings coach Brad Childress.

Other city is Orlando coached by Steve Spurrier,.

Well I guess this helps out the XFL as Atlanta wasn't expected to be touched by them. 8-)

With the Atlanta choice, I don't know if they will go any further north on the East coast. Now, AAF is heading west with rumors of Arizona https://www.azcentral.com/story/sports/ ... 560633002/
If the AAF creates an Arizona team, it’s uncertain if someone with in-state ties would be a head coaching candidate. Danny White was coach of the Arizona Rattlers in the Arena Football League from 1992-2004 and now is in his second year as an ASU football consultant. Former ASU football coach Todd Graham and former Arizona coach Rich Rodriguez are on the job market.

Maybe Orlando is still in play...

Allen Johnson, executive director of Orlando’s venues, told the Sentinel on Tuesday that officials from WWE Chairman McMahon’s proposed new XFL have reached out about possibly putting a team in Orlando’s Camping World Stadium.
“We were told that there is preliminary, high-level interest in Orlando and they would get back to us at a later date,” Johnson said. “They did mention in the call that they were aware of the other league (the Alliance) and felt that the Orlando market could support two teams.”

The question remains why Vince is moving forward with this league when he was beaten to the punch by Charlie Ebersol’s AAF, which will begin play in 2019 and already has its television deal and infrastructure in place. Is it simply Vince’s stubborn and competitive nature or is there some legitimate reason to believe that he can make this league work despite the similarities in their approaches and the AAF’s one year head start?
