Florio and his lieutenants are mostly one and the same, as I described two years ago when he (via MDS) was complaining about XFL2.0 QBs.
Thus, "Florio pieces" aren't necessarily written by him

Seriously. He's one of the most influential football writers out there. His employer airs USFL games. Pick up the phone and call Moose Johnston and ask him those questions instead of asking them in an article. Moose will talk to Florio.4th&long wrote: ↑Mon Jun 20, 2022 1:20 pm https://profootballtalk.nbcsports.com/2 ... um=twitter
>> Thanks to what the USFL should have called “The Stephen Ross Rule,” a season-ending victory by the 1-8 Panthers over the 1-8 Maulers gave the Panthers the first pick in next year’s USFL draft. Of course, it’s unclear what that really means at this point, for various reasons.
Who will be in the draft pool? Will Fisher even be coaching the Panthers? Will the USFL even exist in 2023?
It’s unclear how well the USFL has been doing financially. After some early chatter regarding ratings that looked to be good enough to sustain the league for another season, there hasn’t been much out there about viewership in recent weeks. And perhaps all that that implies. <<
Go ahead MG blast the douche. Does he even pick up a phone to call the league, I'm sure they'd talk to him. Fedora already on record as saying coaches have been told they'll be back for 2023.
Johnson talking 2023. I wonder if Mike pisses on his on kids like this, he says ESPN won't talk USFL and will pump XFL... why don't you take notes. Ahole...
I presume you’re referencing Channing Stribling as the 3rd player signed even though the article never mentions him? Looks like at least Washington liked what they saw.4th&long wrote: ↑Sat Jul 16, 2022 10:42 am https://profootballtalk.nbcsports.com/2 ... from-usfl/
>> For the second time since the USFL season came to an end, one of its players signed with the NFL.
Defensive back DeJuan Neal signed with the Washington Commanders, his agent told reporters.
The 25-year-old Neal played for the New Jersey Generals this season and also spent time in the XFL in 2020. He played his college football for Division II Shepherd University.
Neal’s signing follows that of Christian Sam, who played in the USFL this year and signed with the Cowboys last week.
Although the USFL (and next year, the XFL) will attempt to appeal to players by convincing them that playing spring football is a good way to get noticed by NFL teams, the fact that only two players have signed so far suggests that the NFL was not particularly enamored with the talent level of the players in the USFL. <<
At least get your facts right - its the 3rd player signed.
Correct... And I expect more as the offseason, camp and regular season proceeds.Gopher123 wrote: ↑Sat Jul 16, 2022 11:09 amI presume you’re referencing Channing Stribling as the 3rd player signed even though the article never mentions him?
