WWE isn't relevant. Vince wasn't avoiding players with legal troubles because of his personal moral code, he was doing it to distance XFL 2020 from XFL 2001 and, to a lesser extent, the NFL. Which is why his commissioner letting the Manziel rumors smolder was a) dumb and b) infuriating to him.

Listen—we all knew Manziel did not qualify for the XFL under McMahon's policy, and that Luck never did explicitly say he would sign him... only that they MIGHT consider him. They ultimately did not, nor did they really need to since they had a pretty solid crew of NFL backups and AAF'ers to draw from already.

To say "was" in this case, though, is probably premature, since we know that Manziel likes The Rock and the Johnson-Garcia consortium has already thrown out one of McMahon's main tenets regarding anthem kneeling. If Johnny does well in FCF, I'd bet money he gets signed to the XFL in 2022.

Some people don’t like the idea the Vince acted like a tyrant?

He does. That’s his deal.

Bottom line, when it comes to the XFL Vince failed twice. His only XFL legacy are failure and lawsuits.

Covid contributed, but Vince and football are now done.

As much as Johnny Manziel has fanboys VM has em too. You trash either one and someone’s butt will hurt.
Fan of the XFL from the beginning. You may remember me from the original XFLboard.

Has nothing to do with being a McMahon "fanboy", actually has more to do with a "fanboy" of the Dunn and Heinickes of the league if you want to get down to it. I'm just glad Vince didn't try to restart the league a few years earlier, replace Manziel with Richie Incognito.

If anything, Luck completely contradicted himself with the Manziel stunt. It's not being a fanboy, it's facts. Credit to Vince for realizing he needed to be 100% legit this time around, be nice if his commissioner felt the same.
