Big South was the conference that Coastal Carolina played in, last coached as an FCS member by former Omaha Nighthawks head coach Joe Moglia.

CCU went 56-22 with him as head coach for six seasons, and are now 7-0 and ranked #15.

NMSU (FBS Ind.) adds New Mexico Highlands (D-II) to schedule
The Aggies added Rocky Mountain Athletic Conference (DII) member New Mexico Highlands to their revised schedule on Thursday. The in-state foes will meet for the 14th time overall and the first time since 1999 when they square off on Feb. 27, 2021, inside Aggie Memorial Stadium.

NMSU was already the weirdest team in the weirdest season of football ever, and now they have their weirdest game yet. When was the last time an FBS school played a D-II school?

Report: Ivy League will not play fall sports in spring
The Ivy League is canceling winter sports for the 2020-21 season, sources told ESPN on Thursday.

The conference is also postponing spring sports until at least the end of February and won't conduct competition for fall sports during the spring semester, sources said.

Answer: NMSU (of course), when they played transitioning (still D2 at the time for scheduling purposes) Abilene Christian in 2013

Seeing that Mike Florio's on his soapbox again about how alt leagues need to play "during football season" (and yet he wasn't exactly a proponent of either the UFL or FXFL, or for this year TSL), I'd love to see this FCS mini-season, granted in the ultimate break-glass scenario, be the one to bust that myth once and for all. Unfortunately there's a couple obstacles in the way:

1)I don't expect many games to be nationally televised, especially in the early season. Probably Deion's debut (2/21) but likely only ESPN2 or ESPNU and that's it until after the conference tournaments. I could see ESPN doing some Saturday nights games in April in the playoff runup.

2)Teams will be without their best draft prospects, most notably possible first rounder Trey Lance (the Zach Wilson hype train seems to have passed him by), which will lead to the uber-annoying casual "scrub" whine (yeah Cooper Kupp, some scrub.......).

Nevertheless as an alum of an FCS school why the hell not?

Florio's recent rants have been all of the COVID violations by NFL teams.
