LA: Luis Perez versus Josh Johnson.

Seattle: Brandon Silvers versus Chase Litton. You can make an argument for Joe Callahan and BJ Daniels.

Houston: Phillip Walker versus Connor Cook versus quarterback to be named later. Anything involving June Jones is interesting. I think the Roughnecks are going to add another QB in January.

St. Louis: Jordan Ta’amu versus Taylor Heinicke.

Tampa: Aaron Murray versus Taylor Cornelius. I wouldn’t rule out an assigned quarterback being added to the mix in January. Cornelius might blow away the staff with his physical tools in camp.

I think Dallas, DC and NY are set with their opening day starters. Dallas could use some competition for their backup spot behind Landry Jones. Phillip Nelson is Landry’s current backup. DC and NY have excellent backups in Tyree Jackson and Marquise Williams.

Yea Tron2020, I think Silvers has the inside track. But if the NFL recently has taught us anything - ya just don't know.

I was 100% team Perez until a couple weeks ago. Kinda reminds me of the Maddox/Milo battle in 2001. Perez is still young/inexperienced enough where I could see Johnson getting the job for 2020, landing an NFL position (or just retiring) in 2021 and then Perez steps into the role.

I have a a feeling that even if Luis Perez gets the opening day nod as the Wildcats starter. He is going to be on quick hook status. Perez might get the benefit of the doubt early on but if he struggles and the team is 0 and 2. That might be it for him. Remember with the XFL’s incentive system. Poor QB play literally costs everyone money.

Just my opinion but St. Louis, Houston, Seattle and LA appear to be situations where the teams settled for what they could get with Ta’amu, Walker, Silvers and Perez. Since the first group of assigned quarterbacks. St. Louis, Seattle and LA all got second assigned quarterbacks.

Houston is the big wildcard. Does the team get a Johnny Manziel or Kyle Sloter or Chad Kelly type assigned to them in January.,

St. Louis Jordan Ta’amu versus Taylor Heinicke will be interesting. Jordon is the young rookie with a lot of potential. Taylor has the NFL experience and was successful when healthy and that's the key if Taylor can stay healthy. The other battle is who will be the WRs, they drafted some good ones in the first draft but then several stand out in the Supplemental. Mainly Terrance Williams who many say its a mystery why he doesn't have a NFL job with a solid run in Dallas.
