I forgot to add that Brock Miller had some really nice punts today. I think one went OOB but at least 2 inside the 10 and the one around the 2 yd line. We thought those kind of kicks might go away with the punitive rules but they are still good football plays.

Some fans chanted for backup quarterback B.J. Daniels, but Zorn stuck with Silvers.

“I heard some of the frustration, but we were all frustrated,” Zorn said. “I wasn’t going to panic. If that would have been a continuation into the second half or just continuing to prolong these things, I probably would have had to.”

Silvers admitted he didn’t play well, and that the offense’s struggles start with him.

“I didn’t play well in the first half and I knew it,” he said. “I didn’t hit throws I usually make, so you’ve just got to keep pushing, keep working hard and we had that first big ball and that added to our confidence.”

Yes, Silvers certainly over threw it a few times. I really like our D, they played well considering the O couldn't sustain many drives. They were really tired at the end of the game, but held on for the W. That all said, it sure was fun!

Yes it was.....I talked about the comeback period on the main page.....what a fantastic day.....this is the way you want to make that first impression. It looks like the Dragons are a hit. I would like Silvers to remain the starter....I believe he has a much higher upside than Daniels.
Gardner sure ran tough, at times looking like a junior beast mode......I think it's a 5 and 5 team at the worst.....and that may mean playoffs......."playoffs?"

Silvers needs to step up if he wants to continue as the starter. One thing that bothered me...he puts his hands up when he expects to receive the snap. Sure he does it early on a dummy count, but when the clock is ticking down he puts his hands up and the ball is snapped on the next sound. Glanville's BTF defense was all over him at times and were possibly jumping the snap count.

He needs to work on throwing from different positions, especially on the move.

He has to take the 5 yard run on second and 10 if it's available to make it 3rd and five. As coach Zorn told him, " I can call a play for 3rd and 5". I bet he could call a play for 4th and short as well.

I'll give him a short leash next week. In fact, I would like to see Daniels for a series or two unless Silvers is absolutely lighting it up.

I didn't have the right guy. Kenneth Farrow is who I was talking about. Real impressed with his performance so far.

I like all three backs. Farrow is a bit bigger but not quite as quick. Runs hard, though. The other 2 are smaller (5-8 and 5-5) and a little quicker. Good set of backs.

If we get some of our injured players back and between our defense and our triple threat backfield and our relatively steady o line, and if we can get the quarterback situation straight then we're going to be a force to be reckoned with.

I agree. Plenty to work with. I hope that Silvers was a bit rusty missing some practice with the ankle. He looked much better last week. Still needs to hit the open receivers.
