Semi-OT: Redbird to buy into CBS

Full story: RedBird is one of the financial backers, along with Kohlberg Kravis Roberts and Skydance Media, buying National Amusements, the holding company currently held by the Redstone family that controls Paramount, CBS, Pluto and the former Viacom cable networks (the last of which are dying slow, agonizing deaths in the cord-cutting era).

Of note:
On Monday, RedBird and Skydance executives noted the synergies between Skydance and Paramount, particularly highlighting the success of CBS and the company’s partnership with the National Football League. They spoke of the vision for Paramount’s future, which includes an emphasis on Paramount Pictures’ films, CBS and sports and extracting as much value as possible from the declining traditional TV business.
What that means for the UFL, which as we all know has RedBird as its number-two investor behind Fox? Well, if there is an expansion by 2026, that gives another outlet for games in the form of CBS, which hasn't programmed original shows on Saturday night in many years, or Sunday afternoons since it doesn't own any major rights except golf in the spring (it's mainly used for women's sport in the offseason).

Curious what 4th&long, who's always been interested in sports media and such, thinks of this move.

Been watching and posted on this development.  Shari Redstone was a major F-Up did serious harm to  Paramount.
I think its too early to tell.  Does Paramount Global consume RBC attention, or is it a vehicle they can leverage wih their other properties.  They are not the majority or lead investor on Paramount.  You could even see Skydance spin off properties or merge them on JV's.  You can bet Sports (as they mention) is a major component.    I just hope its nuetral to additive to UFL.
