One of my favorite sports writers out there right now. Unfortunately Mitchell only got one of these right for the wrong team. The Guardians in STL rather than NY. I edited this post but it was more along the lines in names that he thought the XFL would pick. I like Pioneers, Lumberjacks and Pride as team names.

I am giving jcestl 1 and a half points because of his STL prediction. He hit on the aerial theme of St. Louis and even gave good reasoning for it.

Complete guess, with the knowledge that I'm probably going to be wrong:

New Jersey Tornadoes (early 20th century team that was briefly in the NFL)
Washington Warships (recalling the old Civil War boats the Monitor and the Merrimack)
Tampa Bay Sun (Florida's the Sunshine State)
St. Louis Speed (Saint and Speed both start with S. OK? What more do you want)

Los Angeles Condors (after the endangered species)
Seattle Thunder (rain, obviously)
Dallas Steers (Bulls just seemed a little pedestrian)
Houston Drillers (like Oilers, but with a little more action)

Angry fuzz ball was 0 for 8 here but sort of landed with Houston.
