That’s spot on. It makes sense.GregParks wrote: ↑Tue May 28, 2019 8:16 pm One thing to think about too (and maybe this has been discussed already), in addition to wanting to release information/news at times when there isn't much else going on in the sports world, is that you don't want to release too much information so close together. Spread out the coaching hires, spread out the team names/logo announcements if only to keep the league in the news cycle every few weeks. You don't want to announce too much all at once and then go dark for a month or two without any casual fan running into any information/news about the league or teams. A steady stream is the way to go.
Great to be here. Let's have some fun!
June and July are going to be ridiculously busy months for the league. From the showcases leading into July. Sandwiched in between that is The entire league being in California, in mid June for the final phase of game testing with The Spring League. There’s also the matter of the league releasing their official rule book. Which VP Doug Whaley stated, will be a short time after the last phase of testing.
It would upset some but it wouldn’t shock me if we don’t get team names and logos until July after the showcases. This two month period is also when the league starts signing players to league contracts.
In a perfect world. The names, logos and uniforms would all debut at the same time. From a monetary and business standpoint. This would coincide with team schedules being announced, and individual game ticket sales starting immediately. Get a jump on it. Start selling week 1 Dallas vs Houston tickets several months in advance. At the same time, you are also selling merchandise as early as possible.
In reality, the names and logos will probably be revealed together, with the uniform reveals coming in late August/September. The uniforms have to be before the draft, and of course for the minicamps that follow. One matter of business not announced yet, is who the league’s official uniform outfitter will be. Their main apparel sponsor. Secondary leagues usually get second level sponsors. The AAF had Starter. The CFL has New Era. Both good companies, but not on the level of Nike, Adidas etc
