He is coaching in Denver. He's not going to the XFL.

Yeah, and he went to Denver to be close to his daughter. Would be a great get though.

Having watched him coach in Dallas, I'd say that's a terrible idea.

What makes you say that? The .607 winning percentage?

His stint in Dallas didn't end well. Things were so bad at the start of the 2010 season that during a live Monday Night Football Game between the Cowboys and Giants, the fans at AT&T Stadium were shouting "Lets go Rangers" as the Texas Rangers were making their first World Series appearance. Jason Garrett had to finish that season. Even though he had a winning record, the local media criticized him for every questionable decision he made as coach and was portrayed as a bit of a doofus.

Well, he's currently a national media darling, the coordinator of the reigning NFC champion, former coordinator of very good Texans defenses, and son of an Oilers icon. He'd be a home run hire, IMO.

Even if he was allowed to DC the Rams after the XFL season is over with, he would have to miss free agency and also the college pro days and I don't think he wants to do that. Just because the NFL players are done in February, doesn't mean the NFL coaches are.

I am thinking that the Houston and LA Head Coaches will not be NFL coaches right now.

Right, the idea is that he would leave the Rams and join the XFL. He wouldn't be moonlighting. I agree it's probably unlikely.
