After three seasons Dwayne Johnson’s showpiece series on NBC has been cancelled. I’m sure this is a blow to the Rock but he’s been canceled before. And he has plenty of irons in the fire.

Rock appeal at 50 isn't quite the same. Black Adam fail. Young Rock fail. XFL underperformed (per RBC). It happened to Arnold too. He still has appeal but its fading.JeffXFL wrote: ↑Sat Jun 10, 2023 10:03 am After three seasons Dwayne Johnson’s showpiece series on NBC has been cancelled. HA! And the propagandist still waving the flag, meantime there were more people in this HOF village ad than there are at the game for the "home team"4th&long wrote: ↑Sat Jun 10, 2023 12:20 pmRock appeal at 50 isn't quite the same. He also lacks the acting range to do a Wes Anderson movie.4th&long wrote: ↑Sat Jun 10, 2023 12:20 pmRock appeal at 50 isn't quite the same. Black Adam fail. Young Rock fail. I enjoyed this show as it was quite fun in the way it looked back at past events and poked fun. I am sure the Rock didn't expect to be cancelled, as he wasn't given the chance for a real series finale. But that is the way network television goes.
There is always a chance a cancelled show might turn up on another network.

You could say the same for Star Trek (another NBC show of yore, now the entire franchise has been owned by Paramount/CBS for decades), which is how you ended up with a dog-average midseason episode as the series finale--and even worse, the death of Dwight Eisenhower knocked it back two months.MarkNelson wrote: ↑Sun Jun 11, 2023 1:28 pm I enjoyed this show as it was quite fun in the way it looked back at past events and poked fun. ABC so that the XFL can promote it ad nauseam next season.MarkNelson wrote: ↑Sun Jun 11, 2023 1:28 pm I enjoyed this show as it was quite fun in the way it looked back at past events and poked fun. Re: Young Rock Cancelled
They pushed the hell out of Scrubs (moved from NBC) during their New Years' Day 2009 bowl coverage--then again given how that ended up being totally botched I doubt Rock would be interested in a repeat, especially if it ends up being a MNF thing where every show that was paired up with it for the last 10-15 years pretty much died off.GDAWG wrote: ↑Sun Jun 11, 2023 3:30 pmABC so that the XFL can promote it ad nauseam next season.MarkNelson wrote: ↑Sun Jun 11, 2023 1:28 pm I enjoyed this show as it was quite fun in the way it looked back at past events and poked fun. IMO, the worst example of this was "The Jeffersons". George and Weezy deserved a sendoff, for sure.MarkNelson wrote: ↑Sun Jun 11, 2023 1:28 pm I am sure the Rock didn't expect to be cancelled, as he wasn't given the chance for a real series finale.
