Re: Week 6 TV viewers rating:
Overall a decent week. Personally, I was surprised to see the 1 million number. The Monday night game is the lone disappointment in my book.
There are so many comparisons and yeah buts when looking at the ratings, but I would note that USFL week 6 had three games on broadcast and one on cable, which skews the comparison. The two XFL games on ABC had a higher average than the three USFL games on Fox and NBC while the two XFL games on cable had a higher average than the one USFL game on FS1.

Which is why I wanted ESPN, not the Deuce
Although if the goal has been to build it up, mission accomplished. Most of their programs on 3/29/22 averaged under 100,000 viewers (including a high school all-star game) and it's not like the women's E8 was like the WBC on FS1 last week. So I can't imagine they're unthrilled here.

the Boards had one in each week and its easier to find, same with USFL.

I was hoping for a better Monday night rating given the big matchup. But happy with the others .

Sounding to me like ESPN2 and FX are dragging the league down (obviously) but Disney and ESPN don’t care because the goal is to actually have a product on those channels that is worth watching and isn’t reruns of previous big games in other sports and NBA G League.

Looks like ESPN Deportes brought in another 30-50k viewers.

I don't think so, I think they round anything over 1.05 up to 1.1mmlaxtreme56 wrote: ↑Wed Mar 29, 2023 8:07 am Looks like ESPN Deportes brought in another 30-50k viewers.

Re: Week 6 TV viewers rating:
Exactly. Disney's goals are not the same as XFL's goals. Where as USFL is part of Fox, and even there the USFL is still used to meet Fox's needs. Also Disney is a sprawling TV/cable company. When Fox sold a huge chunk to Disney in 2018ish they got rid of their cable entertainment channels (along with RSNs/Studio). They are a much leaner (and smaller) company now but with less resources.Coffeeeyes wrote: ↑Wed Mar 29, 2023 4:09 am Sounding to me like ESPN2 and FX are dragging the league down (obviously) but Disney and ESPN don’t care because the goal is to actually have a product on those channels that is worth watching and isn’t reruns of previous big games in other sports and NBA G League.
Having said that - the parallels to the XFL-2023 and USFL-2022 seasons are pretty amazing. The four ABC games avg (small sample) thru week 6 = 1226k vs USFL 14 broadcast games thru week 6 avg = 1160k. The USFL for Year avg 1047k broadcast and 311k for cable. So far FX/ESPN2 (sans wk 1 simulcast) avg =433k. The USFL did NOT have a full schedule preset prior to opening day. I think that hurt. This year they do like XFL.
The parallels on the field are similar two with 3 have not teams and 5 teams alive for playoffs and some QB changes.
YTD overall XFL is avg 652k viewers, USFL thru week6, 867k. By this point USFL was running deep into NBA/NHL playoffs and spring/summer weather and ratings dropped. We'll have to see if XFL can take advantage of next few weeks. MLB opening w/e and WWE PPV along with Final 4 and no ABC this week, then the Masters week 8.
