Re: Week 5 Television Viewer Ratings:
Bury it ìn the middle of a weeknight on a second tier network with a lead-in worthy of ESPN8 The Ocho... and wonder why ratings crashed.
ESPN made a fool of this league kissing the ring of the NCAA. And now this league is locked in a five year deal with no outlet.

Re: Week 5 Television Viewer Ratings:
I don't think the NCAA's really that much the problem, the curveball was the NHL doubleheaders on ABC. Not that I have any insider knowledge but I do suspect that it's a one-time thing based on reasons I've already touched on in multiple threads, and a more regular Saturday spot will be there next year if both want it. That way ABC can go football-hockey-basketball Saturdays.
Of course the NBA would be another factor. Somehow I don't think that Adam Silver is all that thrilled that the NBA won't be on ABC again until the playoffs. That could have both positive and negative effects for the XFL, but if there's less NHL spots next year that's more for the XFL to work with.
