48 XFL L: HOUSTON/SEATTLE ESPN 10:32 PM 256k (.09 demo)

Looks like a late start and March Madness took a crush on ratings. Lowest of season. Plus sloppy game sand 15-0 at half. Though both teams moved the ball.

Re: Week 5 TV Ratings
Late start might have I don't know if it was March Madness, that had two unimpressive higher seed wins, one higher seed blowout, and the one shocker/blowout probably would been the best game of the quartet.
Sadly it was about on par with college wrestling that was on ESPN the first Thursday last year, probably should have kept it on FX.

Sounders want a day (sometimes two) between games, this stems from playing a b2b with the Seahawks in 2019. That's why the Dragons were the only team to have them.Coffeeeyes wrote: ↑Fri Mar 17, 2023 6:10 pm Don’t know the leagues direction with these Thursday games.
If the Defenders Monday nighter does well you might see more of those pop up next year.

The women's game on ESPN 2 drew 200k at 9pm. The whole women's tournament averaged over 650k viewers last year with the championship at 4.4 million, basically Stanley Cup finals numbers

I think the big factor was lead-in. Not sure which lead-in it was, one of the NCAA tournaments that ESPN is required to carry (NIT, women's basketball, or wrestling), but once you start off with a low start, that late in the evening, you're bound to lose viewers.MGB01 wrote: ↑Fri Mar 17, 2023 5:42 pm Late start might have I don't know if it was March Madness, that had two unimpressive higher seed wins, one higher seed blowout, and the one shocker/blowout probably would been the best game of the quartet.

This is on par with the AAF and USFL's worst draws. (Excluding the non-rated CBS Sports Network and Peacock games respectively). For such a garbage time slot... I mean, it never should have come to this, but this is the price you pay for signing an exclusive deal with the busiest network that time of year.
NBC would've been a far smarter idea, but that ship has sailed... and of course Fox has moved on to the USFL.
