NFL getting softer and softer

Post by 4th&long »

Since Mein Rodger came into the NFL the league rule changes and other actions have made the league less appealing (still FB rules, don't get me wrong there). From touchy PI rules, to deflategate and excessive QB protections to reductions in Kick returns... its just not as good as FB pre-RG.

QB protections - which were supposed to prevent injury - maybe doing the opposite as QB are now like Elliot Ness - Untouchable - well not quite but certainly overly protected to the point its 21 players and one special rules player on the field, So what happened - teams and QBs took advantage of it and stay in the pocket longer and run wayyy more. Which has led to more injuries not less. So the NFL's answers is not surprisingly..., more protections.

This is an opportunity for non-NFL league to just play FB and give the fans something diff yet familiar.

Next up for NFlagL... hip-hop tackling

For someone who claims to hate Florio, you sure do morph into him a lot (though it's one of his top LTs in this case, which you can tell because of the lack of whining and overall THIS IS WRONG CAUSE I'M OUTRAGED! babble).

So wouldn't you be similarly less than thrilled with Bottlegate Mike (director of officiating during said debacle) and his equally reactionary grandstanding?
