I'm assuming he was someone who wasn't likely to be drafted. Maybe this is an effort to bump up his draft stock for when the draft comes, much like Kenny Robinson was.

His surname is Frost.....not Ford. There's a spelling difference that apparently you missed.

Only if he plays. With Taylor Heinecke, that's different. He was with the Panthers before he was in the XFL and he signed with Washington because Ron Rivera coached him in Carolina pre-XFL 2.0. Highly unlikely he gets an NFL job if Rivera hadn't known him in Carolina. Now with two full seasons under his belt, if he doesn't re-sign with the Commanders, he will get a job elsewhere in the NFL. Frost isn't going to increase his draft stock if he never plays. At best, he'll be invited to a rookie minicamp if he never plays in the XFL. He would have been better off in the USFL.
