I guess you gotta hold the championship somewhere, and a stadium needs to be reserved. Too bad divisional finals could not be held the team’s market, or can they? Would sell more tickets. But is the venue available at short notice?

DCU hosts Charlotte April 29--remembering how receptive they were to the Defenders in 2020. That's the only for-sure hangup. The Lights don't play their home opener til May 5, but the Vipers last home game being April 1 indicates there's probably an agreement there for prep.FootballYoda wrote: ↑Tue Jan 24, 2023 8:48 pm I guess you gotta hold the championship somewhere, and a stadium needs to be reserved. CWS literally having just the Guardians as a tenant (and a handful of college games--including LSU/FSU on 9/3) as well as other factors would make it the favorite for even "double-duty" if they choose to go there.

From what I’ve seen the XFL probably could not play a playoff game in Vegas, even if Vegas was to win its division. MGB01 I see what you’re saying and the XFL needs to nail down the playoff venues now.
As for fans in the stands? It will be a made for television event.

Fan of the XFL from the beginning. You may remember me from the original XFLboard.

Nothing was announced, just a "happy to be here" event. Seemed more for the local media than anything else, which is probably why the XFL's main Twitter and XFL Comm Twitter didn't make mention of this event.

Tix sales not going as well here, this was just a PR event like the practice to get local press/media and fans informed/noticed.MarkNelson wrote: ↑Wed Jan 25, 2023 10:55 am XFL Orlando Guardians to be welcomed at Camping World Stadium

I'm actually glad this was just a PR event to drum up interest in the team. I'm not really on board with the whole neutral site for a new league idea. Let the top remaining seed host, especially with 2 week buildup, there's no reason you shouldn't get 20-25k fans for that game in most markets and 30k+ in St. Louis, Seattle, or San Antonio.

It's all about availability of locations, though. Even if one team's stadium isn't available for the playoff weekends, I think you have to do a neutral site/hub. It's not ideal, for sure, but that's the situation they're in right now.laxtreme56 wrote: ↑Wed Jan 25, 2023 11:26 am I'm actually glad this was just a PR event to drum up interest in the team. So, don’t believe everything you read online? Nothing new about that!
Having the championship in Texas makes more sense. Three out of four southern division teams are from Texas.
