“ We’ve spoke with a few sources close to the NFL Alumni Association and others in the spring-football scene and it’s clear that there is an issue in the background. At the time of publication we’ve been able to confirm that the XFL has failed to pay the NFL Alumni Academy for at least the past three weeks.”

At the time of publication we’ve been able to confirm that the XFL has failed to pay the NFL Alumni Academy for at least the past three weeks.

We’ve heard that either the partnership is close to over, if it hasn’t been terminated already.

We’ve reached out to the XFL, but have not heard back.

It’s hard to say if the XFL is having financial issues, or if this is just a major blunder behind the scenes.<<

Ooooooo... OUCH... Money issues? XFL should we be surprised??? Delayed everything now this? No stadium lease in LV?

XFL PR needs to get in front of this before it spreads and everyone from news media, fans, and players start to question viability.

Yep, it's not looking good. The NFLAA was/is unimportant, but people not being paid is always a red flag.

Of course, every single day that goes by without a Las Vegas venue and a schedule is an even bigger red flag.

Enjoy this league while we have it.

This is really a big nothing burger. The media won't pick up this story and 95% of fans that attend the games won't be reading this forum anyway. The partnership may have only been for a few months and came to an end. Until the NFLAA says anything publicly, this has little to no effect on the future of the league. With that said can't wait to see the uniform reveal on sports center tomorrow, looks like ESPN is really giving the league an elevated platform this time around

Why are you saying its a nothing burger? XFL was touting this, now its stiffing NFL-AA. That's nothing? If isolated maybe, a trend? Get popcorn.

This, as I said we don't know what happened. A deal that ended around the draft is certainly a possibility (as with the NFLAA out of the blue flipping to leverage a new deal with the USFL. Obviously they got an unofficial PR guy pushing a vendetta so yes it is possible).

You do realize if this AA-gate is indeed legit how many people are seriously maiming their careers right? Chances are the above is what was the case instead.

Do you know or is that what Donnie told you?

BTW is anything Rock "touted" like when Donnie's brother said the FXFL turned down MJD cause he was "declining"?

This was Mike on the rumors of the XFL breaking the deal by not paying the NFLAA...

Mike is usually very careful and measured with his words. Think it's interesting he's coming out so strongly against this rumor here.

It’s interesting, Mike is usually on point. The fact newsroom and the USFL network guys are saying the opposite makes me at the very least think there’s someone out there hearing/seeing something different. Especially with newsroom saying they’ve confirmed it

Might be just me, but I don't think Woodson, a Pro and College Football HOFer, is at a draft in Vegas when his fall gig's next outing is three days away in Baltimore if the league can't pay anybody.

Same with all the other coaches, most of whom have similar chops.
