WEEKS! WTF.
Now that I think of it, with ESPN asking I assume the delay is not due to the Disney side so its all on XFL.
I mean, given how much their college basketball, NHL and NBA lineups take up, the available time slots ESPN and ABC have to work with should be fairly easy to deduce, since those schedules are already set months ago.

And in theory, the Battlehawks already set their home schedule months ago, even if the opponents haven't been set. In theory, the weekends that the Dome set aside could be found, but they haven't been yet.

The Dome doesn't have any events publicly listed in what would be the XFL's season:

Alamodome only has one conflict, Disney on Ice the weekend of 4/1 (Week 7):

Camping World has one conflict, Monster Trucks on 3/4 (Week 3):

Audi Field doesn't have anything; MLS schedule normally comes out mid-December, although in 2020 DC United played on a Saturday and the Defenders a Sunday of the same weekend.

TDECU doesn't have anything:

Lumen Field has a conflict on 3/25 (Week 6):

Houston and UTSA spring games, although UTSA's in 2022 was on a Thursday night and not at the Alamodome. UH was on a Friday.

The schedule needs to come out if you want any amount of fans at these games so people are able to plan

Per Erica Muhleman XFL Chief Revenue Officer - XFL Schedule: You could see some Thursday or Friday games sprinkled in. Mostly Saturday and Sunday games. #XFL #XFL2023

Hmmm, sounds like ABC/Disney isn't willing to give up some weekend dates to XFL. If they are going to do that - try Mondays maybe?

I remember XFL having 2 late season games scheduled on a Thursday night on ABC before the shutdown. We might be seeing that again

"Could?"

"COULD?!!!"

We're 60 days out and you're still talking "COULD" as far as time slots? How much of a clusterbuck is the XFL right now?

I echo a previous poster: Monday is a natural opening. Just as Fox was going to plug a post-Thursday Night Football hole with XFL games in 2020, it only makes sense to fill Monday slots on ESPN and/or ESPN2 (where the Manningcast was) with some football games. The difference, of course, is that, ironically, it may be even tougher to fill those slots on a sports network where you can get away with burning off a weak college basketball game.

So why would they want to compete against the opening weekend of March Madness? Not only that, but the first two nights of the tournament as well.

On latest addition of Markcast Mike Mitchell told Reid he had heard last Monday (12/19) as schedule release date, and he was filming Thursday (12/22). You can see he lost some faith in mgt rumors clearly with it past the date. He said more in general as well.
