But fans benefit more than anything else. With the exception of the Pro Bowl Hunger Games or whatever they're called now (truly the Firebert of football names), I'm not remembering offhand if there's a college all-star game that week, that gives you football games every week for 10-11 months. The year-round football that Roger Goodell mentioned about a decade ago (and since there's no way the NFL could possibly play for anything beyond six months there you go).

Considering that Fox is basically accusing the XFL of plagiarism, it shouldn't really be THAT surprising that an article like this would be published.

After all, it's not much different than when CBS Sports would have Ben Kercheval constantly push stories on how great the AAF was and how mediocre the XFL was after that.

Independent sports journalism is rare. You might find it in places like The Athletic now and then, but it's a business, and everyone has an interest/.
