Big Week Upcoming for XFL

Post by GDAWG »

Starting on Monday, a major week is upcoming for the XFL. Tomorrow, on Monday is the announcement of the draft order. Tuesday is the announcement of Quarterbacks. Wednesday and Thursday is the draft. Now if you guys remember, Mike Mitchell back in late September leaked a tentative list of QB's assigned to teams. The list was:

Arlington- Drew Plitt (in camp with the Bengals)
DC- De'Eriq King
Houston- Brandon Silvers
Orlando- Deondre Francios (Fan Controlled Football League)
St. Louis- Ryan Willis (with the Bears until May)
San Antonio- Jawon Pass
Seattle- Steven Montez
Vegas- Jalen McClendon

These 8 seem likely to be officially announced as the 16 QB's since pretty much everything leaked in the XFL before they were announced by the league has been pretty much accurate. Other names that the XFL has worked out:
  • Cole McDonald
  • Bryan Scott
  • Kaleb Eleby
  • Carson Strong
  • Jared Guarantano
  • Anthony Russo
  • Davis Cheek
  • Khalil Tate
That's another 8 QB's, so these seem to be the 16 barring surprises, such as one of them signing to an NFL Practice Squad.

Also looks like an ESPN show "Drive to the XFL draft" on ESPN2 Tuesday night.

Replay at 12:30/9:30's probably the better bet, since Ohio/Ball State is bound to overrun.

Awesome! ESPN seems much more invested this time around compared to XFL 2.0.

ESPN is going to lose the CFL by the shitty way it's handling it relationship with the league . It basically buries the CFL on ESPN+. ESPN never gave the CFL a 2022 season primer or introduction of a new CFL season that the XFL got. It doesn't even post CFL scores on the ESPN Sports Center(unless it's Berman gives it some time for a few minutes on the pre-game show) or ticker

Netflix is looking to obtain live sports content. I hope Genius Sports can get a better deal with NF than what ESPN had with the CFL

Look at these CFL on ESPN2 ratings. ESPN will live just fine without the CFL, they could replace it with bowling and draw 300k+. https://cflnewshub.com/cfl-news/cfl-202 ... -on-espn2/

Bingo.

The XFL and the USFL are made for TV leagues. The CFL is not. That's why they're treated differently.

If the CFL wants to be treated seriously in the US, move the season up two months.
