XFL Files Final 8 Teams

Post by Andibald »

The XFL FIles had a twitter poll battle for the first 8 XFL teams. Here are the results:

The XFL Files‏ @XFLFiles

So according to results the XFL should look like this: @VinceMcMahon
@alphaentllc
EAST

Birmingham
Columbus
Memphis
Omaha

WEST

Las Vegas
Oklahoma City
San Diego
St Louis
6:40 PM - 20 Feb 2018
It's gettin' hot in here...and we about to burn 'em up!

Looks like the 2020 XFL champion may be 2-3 seconds short of playing a full season :?

No New York or Orlando? No teams in this scenario would be located on the east coast. I'm not sure why they would go to Vegas since the Raiders would be new to town in 2020. I'm thinking more like Oakland or something like that instead of Vegas. One thing's for certain, the XFL cannot mess around when choosing these cities. I'm thinking like an avg. attendance of 25k in every city at least.

You want a team in every major region. Northeast, southeast, rust belt, great plains, gulf states, texas/southwest, mountain, California/Coast.

Hartford/New England
Orlando
Ohio
St. Louis
Birmingham
San Antonio
Utah
San Diego

Just an example. Even if you don't get a team, there's a chance there'll be a city you don't like, maybe that does and at worst root against them. For instance, if Pittsburgh or Cincinnati got a teams, there's a good number of ohioans who'll cheer against them just on principle. Same if Cleveland got a team, etc.

Agree, the XFL needs representation in all areas.

To be clear, this was a regional tournament style poll on Twitter. The top two from each region advanced. Here is the start of the tournament with the results:

Here are the sweet 16 results:

Columbus easily had the most votes in the final round and Omaha, Oklahoma, St. Louis, and Birmingham did well. Others aren't quite as active on Twitter so the votes suffered.

I agree that the teams need to cover the country. It would be cool for each team to have a regional rival but that would be tough to do with 8 teams while still covering the country.
