Re: Xfl seeking outside investors
So what are the thoughts going to be if the league gets funds from those behind LIV Golf?

If I remember right the recent athletic articles pointed towards 2024 being when they think talks between the two start. I do agree these leagues are way more similar than either want to admit and it’s shown in the fact xfl was going to do a hub until USFL got backlash. I do hope both can get the funding they need to get out of their Hubs
Nick - Yes USFL/Fox did reach out for more funding, AFTER their first season was completed - but they also committed to season two regardless of whether they get financing. They are were, again, open about it and actually announced it ahead of their Championship game. They also spoke openly about it, where as XFL had " no comment." per Sportico. That's a confidence sign. XFL delaying by a week or 2 after their big PR event - isn't a good look IMO. They avoided questions about it on purpose.

XFL funding / TV deal has been totally non-transparent, like the league or not, that's honesty. We have no idea of financial commitment, TV deal breakdown etc.... It is what it is.

Re: Xfl seeking outside investors
The XFL doesn't owe us an explanation or how/where/why their funding is coming from. Look, transparency is fine and all, but in the world of alt-football "promises" and commitments don't mean a damn. The AAF was transparent about their funding until they weren't. The Arena League was transparent about their soon to be worldwide media deals, teams in Mexico, the Columbus Destroyers coming back, etc. until, of course, none of that happened either. The XFL has confirmed a 3 year commitment to Choctaw stadium in Arlington so that would make me think they plan to be in the game for at least 3 years.4th&long wrote: ↑Mon Aug 08, 2022 1:58 pmHerns - The AThletic was speculating on timing as am I.

That's your opinion, that's fine. Agreed they don't... BUT If you want to build confidence - not being transparent is the way to go. AAF was lying and it bit them in Azz. XFL 2.0 was open and that built confidence. Same with USFL going into yr 1. Signing a deal for three years like a lease isn't. I'm sorry but ducking this at the Townhall looks like they don't want it public or at least publicized. And not committing to a $ figure investment isn't either. Plus no details of their TV deal. All those pieces add up. Hopefully things proceed well, but these are what they are.

They were open by commenting on a story for a paper also owned by Fox who'd already heard from multiple sources (they didn't say on which side) they'd engage the bank to navigate the process. It's not like they started an Indiegogo for contributors.4th&long wrote: ↑Mon Aug 08, 2022 1:58 pm

I'm not sure why we're getting into this degree of hair splitting. Both leagues have access to plenty of cash for the amount of $$ being bandied about but would rather get outside investors, both ostensibly for the same ends (some/all teams in expanded hubs or in local markets.) Yes USFL completed a season in one centralized city as a proof of concept, but that's only somewhat more of an indicator further funds will result in higher revenues with more hubs or local markets, when you'll need some degree to gameday revenue and your ads fee rights will only rise incrementally.

Its about transparency and having access to cash is not the same as having it and certainly not spending it. To me its concerning. If VM never committed funds XFL 2.0 and USFL 2.0 would have gotten the same scrutiny.

Re: Xfl seeking outside investors
Care to explain their eight-month dalliance with A-Rod starting at the 2021 MLB All-Star Game (a month and change after the league's announcement) then?
First off, glad you cleared that openness thing up, it's these future events that can affect you in the future.- but they also committed to season two regardless of whether they get financing. They are were, again, open about it and actually announced it ahead of their Championship game. They also spoke openly about it, where as XFL had " no comment
Secondly, the league that was open to the point of it defining 70% of its existence might not have been that great of an idea as it turns out.
1. Questions from whom? That's a confidence sign. XFL delaying by a week or 2 after their big PR event - isn't a good look IMO. They avoided questions about it on purpose.

2. Then why is ESPN even acknowledging them much less putting them at their events?
3. How are you not looking like a total USFL propagandist?

Re: Xfl seeking outside investors
For all the funds Vince apparently committed, there sure were a lot of vendors left empty handed during the bankruptcy proceedings. Rent was never paid at MetLife, Raymond James for starters, a photographer was out over $3k dollars and didn't receive a penny. Vince talked a good game, but the proof is in the pudding. Even before COVID hit he wasn't holding up his end of the bargain4th&long wrote: ↑Mon Aug 08, 2022 3:15 pmNick,nick1091 wrote: ↑Mon Aug 08, 2022 3:11 pmThey were open by commenting on a story for a paper also owned by Fox who'd already heard from multiple sources (they didn't say on which side) they'd engage the bank to navigate the process. Arod was again - Transparent - as is/was their desire to sell off franchises, plus saying "Arod" raised buzz. What does this have to do with what XFL is doing?MGB01 wrote: ↑Mon Aug 08, 2022 4:15 pmCare to explain their eight-month dalliance with A-Rod starting at the 2021 MLB All-Star Game (a month and change after the league's announcement) then?

The USFL likely would have have even talked second hub were it not for XFL. The Hub works for TV - the ratings are in, they can improve sure. Brians Woods Markcast interview laid all this out, in May 2020, ie slow spread to other markets.
Question from whom ? The fans, the public etc,,
ESPN The Rock is still the rock regardless, ESPN had one ESPY event - it cost nothing.
Simple - Because I quote facts -
