We have what I believe to be the first player reported to have been invited to be a part of the XFL draft pool this fall:
Flowers is a rookie out of Winston-Salem State who attended mini-camp last month with the Jaguars as a tryout player. Not exactly Landry Jones, but it's a start.

Having actual rooks in the draft is always better. Nothing worse than the inaugural UFL Draft, the average player was fifth or sixth year and there was literally only a handful of actual rookies--might not have even been that.

Then they ended up signing most of their name players through free agency anyway.
That said, when it comes to the first season of a league, especially a single entity, naturally the draft is going to have vets in it. All the players have to be allocated, not just the rookies like it is in the NFL.
We're lucky it wasn't the convoluted clusterbuck that it was with the AAF's "protect or pick" whatever the heck that was.
