Xfl partial hub

Post by herns »

The reports are the xfl will play in cities but all players will live and practice full time in Dallas and fly out for games. My only concern is that players essentially only having away games will hurt the play quality as the season goes on. How do you like it and why?

Seems weak to me. Better than a complete hub like the USFL. There should be a home crowd at games. But lacking commitment to the market.

Agreed. Better than the USFL. Worse than XFL 2.0. Good day to be a Renegades fan, as they'll enjoy a not insignificant competitive advantage. Going to really suck for the two teams that don't play a game in Dallas at all.

I wonder if this impacts the divisional set up at all. You could slightly reduce total travel by putting the teams furthest away from Dallas in the same division as the Renegades and thus ensure that each team plays in Dallas once.

Mark,

They are behind on their time frame and likely have less money commitment than many be generally imagined. I'm sure its mostly WC Ins driven. Plus maybe some special Tx incentive. Agreed it may hurt local media attention but its a compromise.

I posted the below on the other thread but it fits better here:

I don't have an issue with playing in X, practicing in Y location. The Orlando Apollo's did that in the AAF, but alot of people gave them s##t for it - ie amateur, cheap rushed. That is all true, but if that's necessary and saves money - do it. That being said it comes across as an AAF vibe, AAF also choose cities based on cost to operate and lease availablity more so than best for league chances. It's clear that Texas is offering low cost to operate (esp WC Ins I'm sure) when an 8 team league has 3 teams in one state.

I don't believe "reports" with no sources promulgated by fans of a rival league.

I hate rumors as well, would this one be false? It came from a St. Louis radio personality Randy Karraker. You can listen to the podcast, the link is in here. https://xflboard.com/news/will-the-xfl- ... arlington/

He seems confident in his info. The veracity of his info will be tested soon.

I mean mike Mitchell is trustworthy but it was confirmed by the same place that broke that news was coming the first. Also I’m rooting for the xfl to succeed but that doesn’t mean I’m rooting against the USFL or vice versa. Loved 2020 and really hope they can recapture it
