CONFIRMED NO HUB!!!!
That's a weird thing for him to promote so openly if in fact the stadium leases haven't been agreed to yet as has been reported. Seems the XFL would be losing all the leverage in whatever negotiating is still going on. Unless they're negotiating with multiple stadiums in these cities (or even negotiating with more than eight cities still).

What leverage would they have, though? The hub plan was a colossal bust for the USFL so we know they're going to have local cities—and it isn't Johnson who identified which, it's unconfirmed media leaks, which could be proven wrong at any time.

I'm not saying Johnson ID'd the cities, just that he said they would be playing "in stadiums across the country," therefore publicly throwing the hub model out the window. As much as people think the Hub hasn't worked for the USFL (and you'll get no argument from me), it could've still been an option for the XFL if they truly wanted to save money. Who knows, they may have had ideas to make it work better. But it would be tough to put the genie back into the bottle and say, "well, we didn't get the lease deals we were looking for, so we're going to do the hub model for 2023."

It may be mutiple hubs. Or its one sentence that people will forget. Not saying they won't be in 8 cities but anything goes for now.

I believe the Hub-city model was on the dinner table, but it was a far less palatable option then the feast of being present in eight different markets.

Sure, they have a ton of work to do, but they are hiring like crazy right now. They may have left the job late, but will play catchup now.
