I think that was just in the global draft, where by the far the best value was Australian punters.
It was the global draft.

And I think the CFL will be back business as usual.

Huge ratings drop from 2019. We know MLSE won't be happy. Perhaps Ambroise days are commissioner are finished?

What time was the game on EST? and what were the ratings on other sports programs during the game?

I don't think this has any impact on Ambroise's position.

Primetime 6-10 eastern with overtime which should've spiked the ratings. It easily won the night, but run of the mill NFL games are getting 800k, far greater than the CFL regular season. Lowest Grey Cup rating in 20 years.

Sports TV Ratings Flag of Canada

https://twitter.com/AHBSeaborn/status/1 ... z-_MQ&s=19
>>Dec 12
Canadian football Grey Cup: 2.873M (TSN)
American football NFL Late: 813k (CTV)
Chequered flag Abu Dhabi GP: 667k (TSN)
American football NFL Early: 559k (CTV)
American football SNF: 358k (TSN/CTV2)
Ice hockey stick and puck Carolina/Vancouver: 259k (SNP)
Ice hockey stick and puck Florida/Colorado: 106k (SN)
Basketball Bucks/NY: 56k (SN)<<

Ratings vs viewers, most ratings are down over time, but viewers is diff. While viewers were down not

While were viewers down? BUFFALO vs TB in OT (Buffalo takes viewers from Canada's biggest market Toronto) and the SNF game was Chicago v Green Bay - likely also Toronto / Canada favs.

Here's a big QuestionL Why didn't they Schedule the game for Saturday, with no CFB ????

The tradition of Sunday--they're still living off two games in the 90s: the 'USA vs Canada' game in 1994 between Baltimore and BC which was pretty much homecooked to the Leos, and the Snow Bowl two years later between Toronto and Edmonton which was Flutie vs. Flutie and had another non-call that protected the outcome (everyone thinks NFL officiating bites the big one this year just remember some leagues actually make it part of their 'historic allure')--is why they don't.

The Grey Cup brings in too much revenue for the host market to have the game on a Saturday night. You lose out on a day of partying and festivities which brings millions to the city. I remember going to the 07 and 08 Arena Bowls in New Orleans. While obviously not Super Bowl numbers, each game was thought to bring an extra $20 million to the city for the championship weekend. Put the game on a Saturday and those numbers are effectively cut in half.

That may be the case, but if they are looking to get a bigger TV contract, and sell TV to the networks and investors, they should have played Saturday night. That's the future. The trade off for a 4mm plus viewed game would be worth it.

I agree the host city would lose some revenue but not half.

Bell could really help the CFL by putting the Grey Cup on CTV.
