Thompson was signed back to Carolina's practice squad. With injuries and COVID, Jon Toth is in line to start for Washington at center this weekend.

Heinicke on the COVID list. AAF All Pro Garrett Gilbert signed off the Pats' practice squad.

So Washington's QB room is now Gilbert, Ta'amu, and Kyle Shurmur. One of them will start this weekend if Kyle Allen doesn't clear the COVID-19 list in time.

At least they got their third-string center back in Keith Ismael, so Toth WON'T be starting. Rosters are fluid, to say the least, with many teams at this point.

From today's wire...

Signed to practice squads
LB Tegray Scales, Bengals
OT Isaiah Williams, Jets

Released from practice squads
RB Jacques Patrick, Panthers
WR De'Mornay Pierson-El, Broncos

Also, Kyle Shurmur got the practice squad elevation for Washington tonight to back up Garrett Gilbert at QB instead of Jordan Ta'amu.

not XFL but TSL player in NFL 2021

Post by 4th&long »

TSL champ Ryan Willis QB on Bears PS, could move to active roster...

>> If neither Fields nor Dalton is active, the Bears would presumably promote quarterback Ryan Willis from the practice squad to the active roster to serve as Foles’ backup.<<

This could help him for USFL/XFL

Josh Johnson to start for the Ravens on Sunday with Lamar Jackson out and Tyler Huntley on the COVID list. Interestingly enough, this will be Johnson's second action against the Bengals (a former team, he was active for two games in 2013) this year, he was 2 of 4 for 17 yards against them with the Jets.

My boy Josh, going back to his Bucs days - till now - He's got more FB lives than a Cat! I hope he does well.
