Some interesting news out of CFL land. According to Pederson, Calgary has a potential new owner with direct ties to the XFL. This is all after Comissioner Mark Cohon not denying talks with the XFL may restart after the season and also the Argos starting quite a number of former XFL players. Things that make you go hmmm.

Re: CFL ESPN Deal & Schedule
Is there anyone more connected with the CFL than myself who can give some background on Calgary's team being up for sale? I did a simple Google search and the only result I got was a YouTube video of Pedersen's show.laxtreme56 wrote: ↑Tue Aug 17, 2021 3:32 pm Some interesting news out of CFL land. You mean Ambrosie? Although I wouldn't rule out the possibility of secret talks (although XFL2.0 was years away, the return of CFL-USA) during Cohon's tenurelaxtreme56 wrote: ↑Tue Aug 17, 2021 3:32 pm Some interesting news out of CFL land. I don't think so.4th&long wrote: ↑Thu Aug 05, 2021 3:15 pmlaxtreme56 wrote: ↑Thu Aug 05, 2021 11:29 am Apparently the Johnny Football debut was on the Deuce and scored large ratings.https://awfulannouncing.com/espn/johnny ... espn2.html
CFL ratings have seemed to drop in recent years however, the Grey Cup which would draw close to 250k viewers is now in the 100-125k range. It's just filler for ESPN so I doubt they really care too much, but obviously CFL interest in the states wanes significantly once the NFL is playing. Had an XFL-CFL merger happened, I'd say there was a less than 10% chance we'd be seeing any games past early September at the latest.
That's what I remembered. Better than MLS!
