>> For the sake of argument and entertainment, let’s accept the proposition that the CFL and XFL are going to merge or align. If it were to happen, the likelihood is that it wouldn’t occur until the 2023 season (most likely in April) simply because of the proximity of CFL seasons. Any CFL-XFL alignment season would have to occur in a period of time that doesn’t conflict with weather conditions up north or with NFL games airing head to head in the states. <<

The returning XFL 2020 front office alumni is interesting.
I love Mike, but we've gotten to a point in the CFL/XFL take-athons where we're repeating the same things over and over again only using different words. Possible merger, XFL wanting 24/7/365 content, no 2022 season. I didn't sense a lot new in that section.

Sorry Mitchell. There is nothing new to report, and there is nothing new reported here.
I can tell you the XFL head office is still occupied by a skeleton crew, and lead by XFL President Jeffrey Pollack. When asked of progress (two weeks ago), they are very tight-lipped about the CFL/ XFL talks, only to say that discussions are still underway. As Greg has pointed out in the past, there is a non-disclosure agreement in play. So, “no news” is the play.
If that’s the news scoop people are looking for, then here it is. To me it’s more of another nothing burger than anything else. Nothing short of any indication of the XFL switching on its engines and beginning to build teams to hit the field would be a scoop to me.

I appreciate MM's reporting. I think Mike has some new info (esp if reading between the lines as MM may not want to reveal sources), there does appear to be something happening as far as the CFL talks are concerned. On the other hand - will it bear fruit or die on the vine and the XFL with it? That's the big question.
