Rock Tweets on XFL-CFL discussions

if you could call it that...

>> The Rock has an athletes perspective on the potential merger between the XFL and CFL.

Specifically, when it comes to how the schedule of games could be laid out.

We’ll figure out a smart season that’ll create phenomenal opportunities for players and be the best experience for fans. I played ball for years and wrestled 280+ nights a year (for years) so I know the value in smart scheduling and recovery, Dwayne Johnson tweeted Saturday night. <<

The context is a little interesting. Jim Mullin is a TSN talking head but also the President of Football Canada; Aaron Geisler is Executive Director of Ontario Football; John Rush plays for the Winnipeg Blue Bombers. Each tweet is in response to the previous one (although Johnson is really addressing what Mullin says two tweets prior):
*Hypothetically speaking* If the CFL were to conclude in early September, would that not place @USPORTS_FB and @CJFLnews into an incredible position to showcase their game throughout the traditional fall schedule? I'm just putting it out there for discussion. #CFL #XFL

I'd be interested in a late winter/spring 6-8 game CFL/XFL season and then an August to November traditional CFL with an 8 game schedule where the CFL/XFL season had some implications on standings going into the season leading up to the Grey Cup. Fall football is just better.

One of the more interesting nuggets from what @TheRock said when buying the assets of the #XFL was that he wanted games at various times of the year. This is a possible path that fits that narrative. Thoughts?

This would be terrible for players and player safety. Without an adequate offseason too train we’d see more injuries, players would never fully recover, also it prevents players from getting second jobs, which most need

Hi gents, I never said that.

What's most interesting is the tone -- much more "we'll figure it out" as opposed to "you're getting way ahead of yourself". That definitely sounds like a guy who expects to be involved in CFL scheduling.
