This sort of reads like "if they're going to fail, I hope they fail." I guess my question to you would be, knowing what we know now and setting aside whether you think they will succeed, do you want them to succeed?johnnyangryfuzzball wrote: ↑Wed Mar 31, 2021 4:43 pmWe've seen countless failures and we don't want to see a league implode like the AAF, or sputter to an ignominious death like the UFL or FXFL (though the latter still lives on in a sense with TSL). So if that's the path Johnson and Garcia are going to take, well, in the words of the late Rush Limbaugh, "I hope he fails!"
Edit: And see, invoking Limbaugh is a red flag for me. That has partisan connotations, where one person or group succeeding implies failure for the other group. Is that where we are with XFL ownership? Do you or anyone else interpret success for them as meaning failure for you? Or failure for them meaning success for you?
Like with the AAF, I definitely thought they were going to fail, the evidence for which is on this board. But I didn't want them to fail and would have been thrilled to be proved wrong. I wish I had plans to be at the Commanders game this weekend.
4th&long, do you still want the XFL to have a successful 2022 launch, even if that means eating some crow? Or would you rather everything you've predicted come true? I'm asking sincerely.
