And now a kick return for a TD! It's all Sam Houston on offense/defense, but the third phase is keeping it close for NDSU. 17-9 Bearkats.

NDSU just ran a punt back for a TD. This is unreal. Sam Houston would be better off leaving the offense on the field for 4th downs.

17-17 after the 2-point conversion. All NDSU points are off special teams.

JMU pulling away from North Dakota; just went up 34-14 in the 4th. Great day for the CAA, who will send two teams to the semis for the first time since 2013. And UD and JMU are actually on opposite sides of the bracket, so the FCS Championship could theoretically double as the CAA Championship we didn't get in the regular season.

NDSU out in the quarters for the first time since 2010, and if things hold up we'll get another money matchup on Saturday: the two teams who lost to the Bison twice in the title game who are also the two that have eliminated them since 2011.

Much as NDSU didn't play Illinois State in 2014 during the regular season so the title game was a Valley title game of sorts

Hopefully more competitive than the last time they met:
JMU won only previous meeting with Sam Houston, 65-7 in the 2016 national quarterfinals.

I caught some of the NDSU v SHU and SDST v S Ill.

Competitive games, dudes were playing hard, down to wire... Not bad entertainment.

Well we just saw a 44-3 beatdown turn around eight weeks later and be anything but. That said, Sam Houston's been taking from the Weber State book of living dangerously. Much like it did with them eventually, this is gonna bite SH if they run into the wrong team, JMU is the wrong team.

And much as we'd like to see that de facto CAA title game I think SDSU is just too damn good, even without Cade Johnson (who will make the Hawks, he's a 5-10 Cooper Kupp you ain't throwing that away). Mark Gronowski is the guy that typically is on the other side of the Dakota Marker.

I'm very excited for that game. How good is Delaware, really? Their toughest game in the regular season was Villanova, I guess. Jacksonville State is the best team they've played, and the Hens were in control throughout, even though the score was close. But they're just not battle-tested like SDSU is. Going to be fascinated.

Sam Houston is definitely playing with fire. No chance they'll beat JMU if they're a complete mess on special teams again. Honestly unbelievable that they beat NDSU playing like that.

They were able to do what Eastern couldn't, shut down the run and make Cam Miller throw. As was joked about on a few occasions, NDSU should have got special permission from the Niners and the NFL to have Lance back for a day

Hard to see them holding Agyei-Obese like that, plus Cole Johnson is a much better passer
