Tough break for San Diego.
Yeah, SD's probably wondering what all actually counts here, seeing that Davidson did play a non conf game (and lost to Elon). Plus they finished pretty far down in the dreaded ORV in the coaches poll, probably not going to get them an at-large.

Then again, when the day began it wasn't theirs to win so there isn't too much to cry foul over.

I don't think non-cons and polls ought to be taken into account for a conference championship. Sure seems like 5-1 ought to best 4-1, but like you said, they had their chance on the field.

Well look at it this way: If the PFL is almost treating USD/Valpo as a non conf game (if one can't play no one plays) then you have a straight tiebreaker--San Diego didn't play Morehead, but you might use the eliminator in that case since A beat both B and C.

If they had dropped the hammer with Stetson like the SWAC did with Alcorn Davidson would go to 5-1. So as I said, oh if San Diego hadn't lost to Davidson (not just for a regional bracket either). Looks like no playoffs for the first time since 2013 (were ineligible).

Nice campus, went to a few games there in the pre-Harbaugh years. Doesn't look like San Diego State's scheduled them anytime soon (The Mission Valley campus is almost right in the middle between SDSU main and USD) for a once in a while local matchup--they played in 2015, too bad.

I think instead of just playing out the string, since there's only one Big Sky game (Idaho at NAU) and Missouri State isn't going to get either an audible or an at-large they should just go ahead and schedule the Petrino Bowl next week, Bobby would probably even come out west for it too.

Not quite FCS, but NCAA spring football nonetheless: D3 powerhouse Mount Union also has a game tonight against Heidelberg for their conference championship (OAC). MU's Purple Raiders are 3-0 (with one cancellation from Baldwin-Wallace).

You can watch it online here:

There will also be replays through WIVM, a station out of Ohio.

Oof. An ugly blowout. MU hit the gas pedal early and was out to 50-0 by the third quarter. Final score: 64-14, MU wins.

If Delaware wins, CAA AQ will be determined by vote.
If Delaware wins today, there would be unbeaten North and South champs, and a vote would be necessary.
The CAA will release the decision this evening.

It also reminded me that Dak Prescott and Mississippi State were the first #1 in the inaugural CFP rankings
