Not really, there was a collision and an arm grab. The arm grab looked like it might have been simultaneous with the ball arriving, but the collision was well before, and as Jamal Adams will tell you from when Cole Beasley flopped, they'll call that on the defender 99+% of the time. Would have a different ending had Cole Johnson stayed in.
Pasch and Ware were just terrible, not sure why we can't have Levy, Riddick, and Griese (be a nice callback to Michaels, Gifford, and Dierdorf doing the Sugar Bowl from 88-91 seasons) for Frisco next week. Ware had apparently no idea what JMU was doing on their last scoring drive, and Pasch was a Seinfeld bit without Seinfeld. Might wanna have the mute button handy.

Strong TV numbers for the semis, for whatever that's worth.
https://twitter.com/ESPNPR/status/1392214552511664130Games on ESPN & ABC averaged 620,000 viewers, up 87% from 2019
Saturday's semis averaged 166,000 P18-49 viewers, up 179% from 2019

That was the first time a semi was on a net (or any game pre-CG for that matter), depends on what the schedule looks like going forward might not just be a one-time deal.
In 2019 ABC had a bowl tripleheader with the FCS semis on ESPN2/ESPNU. This year with the Las Vegas Bowl set to move to post-Xmas there might be an opening, giving the middle slot to one of the FCS games.

Kats do it, they do kinda luck out that both opposing QBs have to leave in back-to-back weeks, but it ain't their fault. Besides, KC Keeler's over here saying YEAH AND MY QBS OVER HERE PUKING UP BLOOD YOUR PROBLEM WAS AGAIN?
I do kinda find it hilarious that they're talking up repping the Southland when the SLC basically kicked them and the rest of the WAC four out when they announced they were joining, so that was their last game as a Southland member. I'm assuming the WAC will be running as a football conference proper (this year it's the AQ7 with future Atlantic Sun schools) when Southern Utah joins next year.

Which will not happen as its back to ESPN2/U for the semis with bowl games on ESPN and ABC (LA Bowl essentially switches spots with LV--even though neither was played last year they were still originally scheduled for the 19th and 30th respectively). So the lone FCS game will be the Celebration Bowl at noon.MGB01 wrote: ↑Wed May 12, 2021 11:19 am That was the first time a semi was on a net (or any game pre-CG for that matter), depends on what the schedule looks like going forward might not just be a one-time deal.

The FCSCG shouldn't be hurt by Week 18, in 2020 it led into Bills/Texans so it would do the same here on 1/8.

Few interesting bits,
St Thomas season opener was canceled last week and they weren't able to find a replacement, so they'll make their FCS debut next week at D2 Michigan Tech
Zeb Noland, who started half the spring at NDSU, is now the starter at South Carolina--they play Eastern Illinois
Sam Houston State begins defense of their crown tonight at NAU as well as the brief AQ7 era, with the WAC not debuting (returning) until next year
