Yeah too bad that the Gov Cup (UM version) was a casualty of the BSC expansion. They didn't play in 2018, and won't play in 2023.

With the conference dropping back to 12 with Southern Utah leaving, it makes sense dividing it into four three team "pods" of permanent rivals (Eastern with Idaho and the Dam Cup/PSU) for scheduling purposes, but they're keeping Idaho with Montana for the "rivalry"--they won't play PSU in 2023, kind of defeating that purpose.

Either do a pod system or just have it be a random or two on two off so the teams can schedule each other as a non conference game like EWU and Idaho did in 2019

Can any of you who are better with the TV listing stuff help me deduce what the possible kickoff times are for the Boise State-Air Force game on Saturday, October 16? Either that game or Fresno-Wyoming will end up on FS1; the other will be on FS2. I'm thinking either way it will be a night game, right?

Boise hasn't had a game bumped to FS2, and the FS2 start is an afternoon game (4:30 ET start), so it would be FS1 I imagine. I believe the same way they doubled down in the last deal that had ESPN/ABC is in effect here, although this time around FS2 is effectively the equivalent of ESPNU. So they get either FOX or FS1 in general when on the blue turf.

Thanks! Do you have a sense on when kickoff is going to be for the FS1 time slot? I see 9:00 ET this week but 10:30 ET last week.

It's going to be 9:00 on FS1 this week and next: On 10/16 FS1 is set for Game 2 of the ALCS (FOX is open at 3:30 as well so that could end up being a simulcast). This week both FS1 and ESPN2 have Wilder/Fury pre-fight coverage at 7.

No letdown for EWU as they obliterate the Northern Colorado McCaffreys 63-17 -- the UNC QB is Dylan (ex-Michigan), head coach is three-time Super Bowl champ and family patriarch Ed, and Max is an assistant who is dangerous with clipboards. Eags go over 60 for the third time this year and are 6-0 for the first time as a Division I school (1967).

With South Dakota State and James Madison both getting clipped by a point at home (granted both against top ten opponents) they should be moving up for the second straight week. Next up, an unprecedented third matchup in the calendar year 2021 against Idaho.

Jackson State is in this week's coaches poll at 23--just outside it in the SP. Their only loss was 12-7 to UL Monroe. This is actually the second time they've been in it this calendar year, they started the spring 3-0 before losing their last three.

Guess Deion can put it together after all.

Some talk up here of an upset given the spring but then reality hit. EWU runs up over 800 yards of offense and hits 70 for the first time in three years with a 71-21 pasting of Idaho, the Vandals wore the Grumpy Joe helmets today in an attempt to become the first road team to win in the series since UI's return to the BSC (and FCS) but, not quite. With the mess the basketball team is after Shantay Legans and all the top guys left, Eags might have scored more today than hoops will average this year

Sam Houston was idle today but I don't expect the Eags to bump them out of the top spot

Shock of the day: Sac State (under former Eastern co-OC/QB coach Troy Taylor) goes to Missoula and upsets the Griz 28-21.
He's definitely further along than Beau Baldwin is at Cal Poly (Sac State 4-2, Cal Poly 1-5), but in fairness Sac State was much further along as well when Taylor took the job--they were 15th when they buried UM at Hornet Field two years ago and finished 9-4.

Jackson State now 5-1 after a 28-7 win over Alabama State. At this point if I see one more Aflac Deion/Saban ad I'm gonna start campaigning for Jackson State to play Bama

Yale lost to UConn in the latest best FCS-over-FBS hope, ending the game getting picked off twice in the endzone (UConn was called for 12 men in between). It was UConn's first win in nearly two years (10/26/19)--although they opted out in 2020 so it was "only" an 11-game skid.

Of the ten FCS/FBS games left two are against UMass: Rhode Island started 5-0 before taking their first loss, and Maine plays them later in the year.
