Huge bummer. We're so close -- fingers crossed the bleeding doesn't get out of control.
And no guarantee they won't yank the rug out from underneath the team next fall, either.

Some of these public health harpies need an, er, "adjustment."

MEAC now out:

Wonder if the SWAC ends up having some sort of short-term arrangement with Delaware State, Howard, and South Carolina State where they use them in place of Alcorn State (and any other opt-outs) and count them as conference games.

Brutal. I was really surprised Howard was hanging in there if Norfolk State was out, just considering that they're in the district.

If there was ever a year to scrap conferences and just do an FCS "league" with regional divisions, this would have been it. But that's a total pipe dream. College athletics is like herding cats.

I can see Montana State, Northern Colorado, and Portland State dropping out as well. The only game that any of them has landed as of yet is Montana hosting Central Washington on April 10, which I believe would have been their spring game. What else can they do? Play the Brawl of the Wild as a non conference game maybe but it's not like they're going to get anybody to Missoula or Bozeman if they don't have to. Maybe Portland State lines up a game with USD and that'd be it. I don't see lower division or NAIA schools like Eastern/Western Oregon or Montana Tech lining up to go play them.

Looks like Howard, South Carolina State, and Delaware State will keep playing; they just will count as non-conference games.

I didn't get to stream this -- I guess you needed to be in the FSSW area to have access on Fox Sports Go. But it was a great one -- Tarleton was up 14 with under 4:00 to go, but McNeese converted an onside kick and ended up winning in double overtime.

Here are some poorly produced highlights that take you right up to before McNeese starts its comeback:

Things really kick into gear next weekend. Stay tuned.

Headed by TSU/NMSU for already discussed reasons, MVFC openers, then Deion's debut Sunday.

Big Sky and full MVFC (WIU/USD was rescheduled to the open date) come in the next week.

Delaware State will play home-and-homes with Howard and South Carolina State, and finish with a non conference game against Delaware

https://fbschedules.com/delaware-state- ... -schedule/

Which if any of the Big Sky opt-outs can put something together in a month, it would probably look something like this.
