I would be common for us to want the XFL under management of the Rock and Dany Garcia to avoid the whole social justice thing and just play football but that's not likely. Garcia has talked about this on social media. The Rock has talked about this a little bit. Their daughter Simone Johnson has talked a lot about this. We may not want to see the XFL do this, but sooner or later, it's going to have to be addressed by the new management. They will need a policy in place to where the league has a way to deal with this. One solution is getting rid of the national anthem, but that would be only a temporary band aid. Even if that happens, how does the league deal with players who opt out due to social justice?
The XFL can't come back and ignore this issue. They must address this issue because if they don't, it's not a good look for the league, especially with the mainstream pull that Dwayne Johnson has. At least announce a defined policy about how the league is going to deal with this.

I am sure they are watching the NFL and waiting to see how it plays out for the big league. Then figure out how it might work for their league. Keep in mind these owners are exceptionally player-centric. Will be a factor.

One thing the big league isnt worried about..... revenue. They can put on their games in front of empty stands because ticket revenue isnt what pays the bills.

I think they'd deal with that the same way they deal with every other situation where a player becomes unavailable. You sign somebody else.

I just can't see a player signed by the XFL "opting out" of playing in an alt league for a shot at the NFL. Would a MiLB player do that?

Better to Ignore it, at least as much as possible or you can writeoff XFL 3.0 before it gets off the ground. Other players will be happy to replace those more interested in grandstanding, but I don't expect many as these players are there with a purpose.GDAWG wrote: ↑Mon Sep 14, 2020 3:21 pm I would be common for us to want the XFL under management of the Rock and Dany Garcia to avoid the whole social justice thing and just play football but that's not likely. We got so tired of the announcers commenting on the social justice issue during MNF that we just muted them. We'll do the same to the XFL if they follow suit. It is suppised to be "For the Love of Football" and for the fans - at least it was...

They can't ignore it. They are going to have to address it when XFL 3.0 is close to returning. It's not going to go away anytime soon. If they ignore it and it gets close to XFL 3.0, coaches, players, team officials and league officials will be asked about it and will have to address it. If they don't, they are going to look bad not commenting or not having a policy.4th&long wrote: ↑Mon Sep 14, 2020 9:35 pmBetter to Ignore it, at least as much as possible or you can writeoff XFL 3.0 before it gets off the ground.
