Will teams remain in their current cities?

Under new ownership, will the teams remain where they are currently located or do you think management will shuffle the deck a bit? As a St. Louisan I'm really hoping the Battlehawks stay with us as we transition to XFL 3.0.

Thoughts?

I think some are pretty safe, St. Louis included. I think, just as XFL 2.0 likely would've done in the offseason, that the new owners will take time to assess each city's viability going forward. Especially those whose leases may not have transferred over in the bankruptcy proceedings - it may be easier to "move out" of that deal if they are not tied to those leases.

I think if they play in a bubble, it's a reasonable bet that no one "relocates". Nothing really to be gained at that point. Whenever teams are back in their home markets, I'd expect to see some movement, with Tampa being the most likely candidate.

Regardless, St. Louis is as close to a lock as you can get. I'd think only something going sideways with the lease at the Dome would kill the BattleHawks.

If the American moves to spring, Houston and Tampa are probably out.

So I favor STL as the bubble city (which goes perfectly with their 'Hub of America' reputation)

Virtually locks to return, since all three still have stadium deals:
St. Louis
Seattle
Houston

Probably will return:
New York
Los Angeles
(if only for the TV deals)
DC

Toss-up:
Dallas

Good as gone:
Tampa Bay

I hate to see the Vipers leave Tampa, but you have to figure they will go up I-4 to Orlando right?

You’d think, plus Steve Spurrier still wants to coach so it’d be a perfect fit.

Would it be too bizarre to just not worry about city representation and just field eight touring franchises like Premiere Lacrosse League?

Wasn't there some speculation that The Rock might push for a team in Miami?

Yeah, he obviously has connections to the city, and it definitely gives you a little more sizzle than Orlando. But as in Tampa, the big question mark would be a right-sized stadium. I don't know enough about the area to say whether the temporary Inter Miami venue in Fort Lauderdale or FAU or FIU would be viable. But if we learned anything from 2020, it's that if you're going to go into the big, saturated markets, you better have a great stadium situation.

If Inter Miami ever actually builds a downtown stadium, I would definitely be interested if I were the XFL.
