Kickers always have the easiest Transition to the big leagues. One of the best NFL kickers of all time, Mike Vanderjagt, got his start with the Portland Forest Dragons. The XFL had some decent talent, but out of what 400+ players only a handful are on active NFL rosters and less than 5 have made any real impact on their teams. Not really any different than what the CFL can contribute on any given year

Perhaps - but some have. And the other point is even a min pay player is getting good $$. Enough to get a jump on life if not pissed away. PS pay is good now too.

While the XFL's behind the AAF in terms of player impact (Logan Woodside, oft-maligned Commanders starter, had one of the plays of the game with the fake punt in the Titans' possibly season-saving win), realistically we're talking about bottom roster and injury replacements where the impact is made, not the hundreds of regulars. But Bill Walsh thought they were pretty important, so did a lot of HOF coaches.

Perfect example is a guy like Bo Scarbrough, who likely would have been in the league had it existed a few years earlier. All Scarbrough's done is run the rock well as an injury fill-in with Detroit and Seattle, and once he comes back off IR might get another chance (esp since the Hawks are bound to have Deejay Dallas wind up hurt at some point, completing the injured RB sweep).

And not XFL, though you can take the same timeline with Scarbrough, but Jordan Dangerfield, who played in the FXFL, signed with the Steelers PS a few weeks after the 2014 season blew up, made the 53 in 2016 after a year and a half on the PS, and has been there largely ever since as a special teamer and third or fourth safety. Considering those guys are usually turned over every year apparently he's doing something right.

As you alluded to, there usually is a lag in terms of impact when it comes to these kinds of leagues. Very rarely does one come from one of these leagues and just light it up right away.

If you were to look at the AAF's roster impact on the NFL's 2019 season, it would've looked pretty bad. But many of those players made the next step this past offseason and are now major contributors, such as Garrett Gilbert in Dallas and the one you just mentioned, Logan Woodside. So it might not be until next year before we start seeing the true effect of the XFL on the NFL's rosters.

(Also: the XFL was explicitly NOT meant as a "developmental league," whereas the AAF was. So success in the NFL is not necessarily the metric the league may want to measure, especially if its goal is to establish itself as a standalone product.)
