Week 5 TV ratings

Post by 4th&long »

Week 5 TV ratings - Sunday

TB at LA - ESPN 9pm 833k viewers - Was highest rated sports on cable Sunday - in 18-49 DEMO

Stl at DC - FS1 3pm 767k viewers - 2nd highest rated sports on cable Sunday - in 18-49 DEMO

http://www.showbuzzdaily.com/articles/s ... -2020.html

Overall that's DOWN about 300k viewers on avg, but with weather nice in NE and a 9pm late start for sunday night, a drop was expected, it did beat all cable sports programming from what I see....

OTHER LEAGUES:

USA SOCCER MEN L: USA/SPAIN ESPN 5:00 PM 522k viewers
MLS REGULAR SEASON L: PORTLAND/NASHVILLE SC ESPN 7:01 PM 399k viewers
NHL REGULAR SEASON L: ST. LOUIS/CHICAGO NBC SPORTS NETWORK 7:32 PM 549k viewers
NBA REGULAR SEASON L: OKLAHOMA CITY/BOSTON NBA-TV 6:02 PM 358k viewer
NHL REGULAR SEASON L: COLORADO/SAN JOSE NBC SPORTS NETWORK 10:15 PM 265k viewers
NBA REGULAR SEASON L: TORONTO/SACRAMENTO NBA-TV 9:06 PM 302k viewers
NASCAR RACEDAY L FOX SPORTS 1 2:00 PM 545k viewers
COLL BASK POST-SEASON L ESPN 3:14 PM 277k viewers
+MAJOR LEAGUE SOCCER L: LA FC/PHILADELPHIA UNION FOX SPORTS 1 10:30 PM 124k
+MAJOR LEAGUE SOCCER: LOS ANGELES FC VS PHIL UNION FOX DEPORTES 10:30 PM 112k

NETWORK NUMBERS during Sat-Sun still unavail, there were alot of sports options on NetTV as well

Doesn't give me much hope for Hawks/Vipers Saturday with FS2's limited reach, but it is what it is

On the flip side, look at how many viewers the Beer Snake could add just by itself :D

Its All about the Beer Snake! :ugeek:

Week 6 of XFL is the weakest TV schedule and likely toughest competition
Sunday ABC & FS2
Sat FS1 and ESPN2

Other way around, FS1 is a bunch of stuff leading up to the Pac 12 championship game (aka the Larry Scott must go game, they're the only power conference whose championship isn't on CBS, FOX, or ESPN--even the A10, Mountain West, and Missouri Valley are on CBS, just plain sad :x )

The bad news: ratings are still going down.
The good news: pretty much EVERYTHING is going down, so the loss is to be expected. Plus they're still ahead of the AAF.

You can pretty much throw out next week’s St. Louis vs. TB ratings on FS2. Limited reach and I believe the only game on the schedule to air there.

Like I said - toughest week for XFL on TV schedule. FS2 is in under 60mm homes I believe vs 85-87mm for ESPN/ESPN/FS1

>>XFL falls below million viewer mark for first time<<

https://www.sportsmediawatch.com/2020/0 ... week-five/

As also noted in IP:

>> Despite the lower numbers, Sunday’s games were still the day’s most-watched sporting events on cable. ESPN’s game built on its Major League Soccer lead-in by 109% (vs. 399K). FS1’s game built on its lead-in — the NASCAR Raceday studio show (545K) — by a smaller 40%.<<
