MLB has suspended play.Metallifreak10 wrote: ↑Thu Mar 12, 2020 2:10 pm There won’t be XFL games this weekend in my opinion. If the MLB season starts with empty stadiums, and other league follow with playing in empty places in April, then the XFL should play the 2 playoff games and Championship game in empty stadiums. Probably just play all of the games at TDECU.

I know, they canceled the rest of Spring training and suspended likely the start of the season. I was saying if they(MLB) started playing games in April in empty stadiums, the XFL can follow suit and play their playoffs in empty stadiums.GDAWG wrote: ↑Thu Mar 12, 2020 2:30 pmMLB has suspended play.Metallifreak10 wrote: ↑Thu Mar 12, 2020 2:10 pm There won’t be XFL games this weekend in my opinion. The chances are super high at this point of the XFL suspending play.

Agree. I'd say there's maybe a remote chance of doing the games this week in empty stadiums (assuming teams have already traveled), but if you're going to suspend going forward, I'm not really sure what the point would be.
I think at this point the optics of continuing forward with the season as scheduled when all the other major in season sports have suspended either indefinitely or a set period would be awful.

Governor of New Jersey "recommends" the cancelling of all gatherings above 250. Would impact the Guardians, who host the Roughnecks in the first game of the week.

So, just trying to be as optimistic as possible. Say after self quarantine and what not...the NBA, NHL, MLS, and MLB all announce they will resume activities say April 8th, and play games in empty stadiums and arenas starting April 15th. For the NBA and NHL, that would obviously mean the start of the playoffs.XtremeFanForever wrote: ↑Thu Mar 12, 2020 4:33 pm The NCAA just cancelled everything.

Would you think the XFL would at least consider having the playoffs on the 18th/19th, and championship game on the 26th? Of course in front of no fans.
