The XFL should suspend play until further notice starting on Monday. If a miracle happens, and in a few weeks, things are looking better, you could resume the season starting let’s say in week 10. Then they could try to make up games in the following weeks since the players are under contract until May 31st.

Not sure they could bank on things improving in a few weeks. At this point the biggest issue may be minimizing the risk to the players. Crowd restrictions can be worked around. Teams can play in an empty stadium at virtually a moment's notice. Playing out the season under those circumstances wouldn't be difficult.

But it a player contracts the virus they would have to abruptly stop the season for at least two weeks, likely longer. At that point the season is pretty much done for. With that in mind it's hard to know what the right move is. Do you just press on for as long as you can and get as much TV exposer as possible? Do you wrap up the season ASAP in hopes you can avoid this nightmare scenario?

After this week, have the playoffs and the championship game and close up shop until 2021.

I agree with Reg Joe. Other people are working in retail, hospitality, restaurants, offices, hospitals, you name it. The highways and roads are full.

Sports will adapt... that's what we do.

Having the players play in empty arena's / stadiums is logical because the main issue is the large grouping of people, eliminate that and play. People need to a distraction, if the risk is no diff than anyone else working, they'll play.

Quick testing is coming out which will aid in identification... Example...

Bottomline... stick together, work together, focus on minimizing the virus and let's all get through this.
The worst case is we are shut down like Italy. Let's hope we don't get to that.
We have a much lower population density here. That does play in our favor with fewer people packed so close together.

I think the XFL will not be playing games this weekend. They will suspend.

NHL reportedly will suspend season today

"NHL commissioner Gary Bettman reached out to clubs Thursday morning to tell them the regular season would be suspended due to the spread of the coronavirus, a source indicated to The Post. There was a call scheduled for 1 p.m. to work out some of the details on what is a very fluid situation."

There won’t be XFL games this weekend in my opinion. If the MLB season starts with empty stadiums, and other league follow with playing in empty places in April, then the XFL should play the 2 playoff games and Championship game in empty stadiums. Probably just play all of the games at TDECU.
