2.5-2.7 nationally.

Some cities spike with 5 or 6s.

Thinking those Thursday Nights will draw the 4.5 the XFL was originally looking for in 2001.

That's here:
https://xflnewshub.com/xfl-news/exclusi ... -abc-espn/

1.914 million for ABC
1.473 million for ESPN

I kind of had a feeling this would happen but to continue to drop below 2 million is unsettling.

Doesn’t seem good but to be expected I guess as the shine wears off of the novelty of a new league.

Wonder what kind of ratings Luck expected on average?

Also, worth noting that the NY market didn’t even crack the top four of the Battlehawks game. Granted, it was an uninteresting blowout the the Guardians are unlikable right now but I feel like capturing those NY eyeballs is key....

New York NEVER shows up in the top markets for ratings for any particular show. It's a multilingual, extremely fragmented market.

It's usually the smaller and mid-sized markets that fare the best.

In the IP i was saying the weather was in the 50's and sunny in the NE and Midlantic - The XFL is greatly helped by a captive indoor audience - with this mild winter and fair w/e weather I'm surprised the ratings have held up as well as they have.

This definitely could hurt the early games both days.

For viewers in millions
Broadcast:
I was hoping for a 2.1 to 2.2 broadcast avg, still possible if FOX Saturday pulls a 2.3 or higher.

Cable:
I was thinking ESPN 1.7 or 1.8 max. 1.5mm is actually pretty good for a lopsided game (aided with fan energy I'll say)

As far as FS1 - this was an East/West coast game and if Cardale hadn't been a turnover machine may have gotten better ratings. Lets hope for 1.2mm+ in this lopsided beat down. Lots of exciting LA scores though. The 6pm start may help.

...

I remember Vince saying somewhere that they needed at least a 2.3 in order for it to work. I'm not sure how that breaks down.

I very much doubt that. I read 1.5mm viewer for Broadcast, 800k for cable.

Silver lining here is the Saturday ABC’s game had 2.5 million for the conclusion, which at least shows people are compelled to see the ending of an exciting game.

Tough break for the league that Sunday’s games weren’t competitive. Would’ve been curious to see the numbers if the games were close.
