Seattle leading ticket sales?

Post by 4th&long »

Seattle leading ticket sales? .... Interesting.

https://sports.yahoo.com/seattle-dragon ... 34004.html

>> According to a source, Seattle is currently leading the XFL (eight teams) in season ticket sales, in some cases by a wide margin. The Dragons have seen a surge in ticket sales following the Seahawks loss to the Packers in the Divisional Round of the NFL playoffs. The club is currently projecting an attendance of more than 20,000 people on Feb. 15.

The hype surrounding the team began to build when more than 1,000 fans showed up to a Dragons open practice at Memorial Stadium in Seattle Center back in December. <<

A little different than what we heard less than a month ago, which had St. Louis pacing the league in season ticket sales. Things could have changed between now and then, especially, as this latest article suggests, if there was a significant uptick following the Seahawks' season.

It's gettin' hot in here...and we about to burn 'em up!

Looks like the 2020 XFL champion may be 2-3 seconds short of playing a full season :?

I love it.

Don’t go to NFL markets. Oh really?

Seattle has awesome sports fans. Why wouldn’t you want to have a team there.

Via NBC Sports Northwest, the Dragons currently lead the eight-team league in season-ticket sales. The Dragons have seen a surge in sales since the NFL’s Seahawks ended their season with a loss at Green Bay in the divisional round of the playoffs. <<

Its good new for Seattle.... but I wonder who is under performing?

As I previously mentioned on the Dragons thread, a recent poll showed that 79% of Seahawks fans supported the Dragons. Gotta love it! I can't wait for our home opener on the 15th.

Pretty safe bet I'd say. Re: St. Louis, they did say that STL was leading in season tickets sales and that Seattle was leading in ticket sales, so could be two different things.

I think Vince and Oliver got one thing right in picking a lot of these markets.

You're not going up against the No-Fun League. That's why you're playing in February, March and April. You're up against the NHL, NBA, college basketball, and later on, the beginnings of MLS and MLB, each of whom are different breeds of sports fan than the typical football fan anyway.

There are still plenty of good markets for pro football that the NFL hasn't touched yet, but that doesn't mean that the NFL markets should be off limits. Far from it! As they said, that's where the fans are.

The article linked in the first post specifically mentioned Seattle leading in season ticket sales.
