Roster cuts leading to team 9 additions will be interesting. We will see if the league even tells us who makes team 9

We are a week away from cutdown day. Hopefully there isn’t a lot of confusion then. There will be 144 players cut in total. Give or take a few, depending on what players go on injured reserve.

That's alot of players -18 per team. Is that the 'final' cut?

As final as something can be in football.

The cuts are supposed to bring rosters down to 52 per team. It will still be two weeks and change before the openers. So there could be additional roster moves right up until week one.

It happens in the NFL too. Teams will cut down to 53 and then pick up players on waivers or even cut players that appeared to make the initial 53.

The waiver process should be interesting. The league will probably randomly determine the order. It’s actually significant because there should be a good number of players who teams will want to claim.

Exactly, and injuries will just added to the adjustments.

I'm kind of surprised they went with 52 players for a short season and Team 9 available to pluck from, but with the reduction in salaries (from original pronouncements) that that may be able to have their cake and eat it too. I originally heard 45, now that's the active.
