According to XFL news hub......it is suggested that the unveilings should happen this week. It's really the last good opportunity to grab the sports news headline before NFL camps start opening and the media turns it's attention to that. I believe they already lost valuble time seeing that they've given themselves all this time to prepare. You had the entire spring/summer season to get the marketing of XFL branded product going......and so far......zzzzzzzzz.

The team names, logos and colors will all be released when they are ready. Just like every other aspect thus far in the XFL's league building process.

There's no getting around the NFL season, when it comes to the XFL making announcements or news.

Here's a list of XFL news that will happen during the NFL training camps, preseason and regular season.

Team Identities, Player Signings, League Rulebook Release, Team Schedules, Tickets going on sale, Uniform Release, The Draft and Team Training Camps.

All of this happening during the time when the NFL is up and running for their 2019 season.

I actually kind of want the league to stretch out the announcement of team names until August, so that people on Twitter can yell "TEAM NAMES!" on every single Twitter post the XFL makes.

No, there was plenty of chance to get around it, and it looks like they blew it. There's nothing going on right now. They filed trademarks for one team a month ago, then for no discernible reason, they quit.

Certain things can happen during the NFL season, and practically have to. Pretty much anything involving player personnel, like the draft and signings, can't really be done until the NFL makes its final cuts. But this was when they needed to take advantage of a hole in the NFL's hype machine before training camps get underway. If they don't have the names of their own teams ready by now, whoever is responsible needs to resign immediately. There is no excuse for this. If there was a holdup, they had 16 months to avoid it and failed.

Let me remind you of one of the big reasons the All-American Football League flopped before Game 1: no team brands or identities. The longer the XFL goes without names, the more money they lose.

If this is a serious attempt at a football league and not just a tax write-off, WE NEED THE TEAM NAMES NOW.

Most NFL training camps don't start until next week and I don't know about the other 6 NFL markets in the XFL, but I know once the Cowboys start training camp, that is all the focus of the DFW media is going to be. The name of the Dallas XFL team will be the least of the media's worries when the Cowboys start in Oxnard, California next week. All they want to talk about will be whether or not Dak Prescott, Zeke Elliott, Jaylon Smith and Amari Cooper get contract extensions, if Elliott gets suspended again, the potential re-instatement of Randy Gregory and the fact that Jason Garrett is on the hot seat.

The Rangers, Mavericks and Stars usually don't do anything at this time unless they make a major trade.

Reminding me of a league that never launched in the AAFL. Do you seriously believe that it’s even a possibility that there will never be team names?

Tax write off? Oh boy. That’s funny.

What has been blown? Just because names are not publicly trademarked. It doesn’t mean that they have not already been chosen. They just aren’t public record yet. Deciding on a name isn’t just an individual thing. The logo and colors are also a part of the selection/creative process.

Your math is off on the 16 months to come up with a name deal. The league didn’t announce it’s cities until this past December.

Anyone who has been truly following the league, and is not just now jumping on the wagon because their AAF ship sunk badly, knows that everything the XFL has done, has taken time. They haven’t rushed into anything. The cities took almost a year to be announced.

Maybe there's a chance the league still doesn't launch at all. When Vince announced this.....and even though his two operations are supposedly belonging to separate entities.....it's still all Vince. And I don't think he forsaw the decline in fortunes for WWE. His tv ratings and attendance figures have gone south......wrestlers are leaving or threatening to.......AEW is hurting his wrestling business no doubt. And like the AAF......I don't think they really know how much money will be needed to pull this off. The WWE stock selloff is where he gets the money......and the stock,. like the ratings and attendance.....have fallen.......and is still falling.

The money has already been cashed out. It’s no longer attached to the WWE or it’s stock. It’s completely separated from it now.

You live up to your name. Once Oliver Luck sees the ALL CAPS. It will make him very serious.

What evidence is there that the XFL is not a serious league. Is it the deals they have made with ABC, Fox and ESPN, who will all be with the XFL in 12 days doing game and broadcast testing? Is it the deal with Elevate Sports working with Ticketmaster and Live Nation? Is it all the team presidents that have been hired and the staffs that are being put together? Is it all the venue deals that have been made with NFL stadiums? Is it the 800 plus players who worked out for the league in 8 combines in the last month? Is it the hundreds of coaches that have been hired? Is it the 400 million dollars that has already been cashed out and put in the league’s bank? Is it the XFL having deals with the two biggest sports insurance companies in the business?

The team names are a given. It’s guaranteed to happen.
