Hall was a prolific passer at Bowie State. I sort of get kickers being left off the rosters but a quarterback seems puzzling. Either way, glad to see that he got a workout.GregParks wrote: ↑Thu Jul 18, 2019 4:18 pmI also added QB Amir Hall of Bowie State, who was not on the roster but according to a post today on XFL Washington's Twitter account, worked out at that Showcase.MikeMitchell wrote: ↑Thu Jul 18, 2019 3:03 pm Couple of names to add to the Spreadsheet. Both these specialists worked out in Dallas.
Andrew Gray- Kicker from Valdosta State
Shane Tripucka- Punter from Texas A & M

Re: XFL Summer Showcase Spreadsheet
I did a count of the number of players from Greg Parks spreadsheet. Eliminating those on the list who didn’t work out or were signed by NFL teams before the showcases. There are also some missing names like specialists and college players.
The XFL worked out 865 total players in the eight showcases.
422 players on offense
415 players on defense
28 players on special teams
Here are the numbers by position;
*OFFENSE*
Quarterback (43)
Running Backs (64)
Fullbacks (6)
Wideouts (110)
Tight Ends (56)
Centers (18)
Guards (63)
Tackles (62)
*DEFENSE*
Defensive Ends (71)
Defensive Tackles (76)
Linebackers (95)
Cornerbacks (85)
Safeties (88)
*SPECIAL TEAMS*
Kickers (8)
Punters (8)
Long Snappers (12)

Good job. I am going to assume that you left out players like Beniquez Brown, Brandon Silvers and others, who were listed on the Showcase rosters but didn't work out.LeoNY wrote: ↑Sat Jul 20, 2019 10:40 pm I did a count of the number of players from Greg Parks spreadsheet. I am not surprised that so many players on the offensive and defensive lines were worked out. Nearly 150 per each group. Like most pro teams and leagues. The numbers favor those positions and WR/DB's.
WR is always going to have more players than say RB. Most teams only carry 3 or 4 halfbacks per roster. Team usually carry 6 or more receivers per roster. So no surprise that the number is nearly doubled in terms of players who worked out at RB and WR. 110 for receiver, 64 for RB.

Re: XFL Summer Showcase Spreadsheet
God bless the tabs feature on Excel: I've updated the spreadsheet with a new tab, keeping track of those signed to NFL teams who either worked out at the Summers Showcases or were listed on Showcase rosters. Training camp is a time where there is a lot of roster churning in the NFL, so I'd expect a number of Showcase players to be shuffled on and off rosters over the next several weeks, but it will also give us an opportunity to see who can/can't be signed to the XFL, at least at this stage of the game.

I have noticed a couple of XFL Showcase workout players getting NFL tryouts recently. QB Luis Perez with the Carolina Panthers and TE Nicholas Truesdell with the Jets. I am sure that there will be more moving forward.

Aca’Cedric Ware signed with the Colts today. He might be insurance for Spencer Ware, who started camp off on the PUP.MikeMitchell wrote: ↑Wed Jul 24, 2019 3:58 pmCool added feature Greg.GregParks wrote: ↑Wed Jul 24, 2019 3:47 pm God bless the tabs feature on Excel: I've updated the spreadsheet with a new tab, keeping track of those signed to NFL teams who either worked out at the Summers Showcases or were listed on Showcase rosters. So XFL DC's Twitter continued to spotlight some of the talent that attended the Washington Showcase. Two of the four in the Tweet above were not on the DC Showcase roster. That could make people who have invested a lot of time in tracking showcase participants (most of those people are me) pretty nervous about what percentage of the participants for each Showcase were NOT on the rosters given to media at the event.
Also, two more Showcase participants were signed to the NFL today - OL DIllon Day (SF) and Isaiah Williams (Bal).

Based off of your spreadsheet. I had the actual number of players who worked out at 865 but that number continues to grow.GregParks wrote: ↑Fri Jul 26, 2019 8:33 pm https://twitter.com/XFLDC/status/1154776368279896064

The Giants signed Amba Etta Tawo today. He blazed a 4.3 40 at the DC Showcase. They might sign more XFL Showcase players. They are getting killed at the receiver position with injuries and suspensions.
The Patriots signed JJ Dielman as well. He worked out at the Showcases as well,

I have been harassing the league to release a full list of all the players that worked out at the Showcases. A couple of people inside the league are receptive to the idea. I wish that they would do it. Just for my personal football nerd preferences.GregParks wrote: ↑Fri Jul 26, 2019 8:33 pm https://twitter.com/XFLDC/status/1154776368279896064

Happy to see Showcase players getting signed. There will inevitably be more with all the injuries that will take place during the summer. Players are also being cut as well. Opening up the possibility that they could be XFL signees it they don’t latch on to any of the 32 NFL rosters.
