Time that he can never get back. Could've won another Grey Cup. Still sold potato chips when he came back to the CFL meaning the money the Jets paid him wasn't that better than what the Elks/ E*****s paid him. Ray wasn't given a chance to compete as a backup against the likes of C. Pennington, B. Bollinger or Quincy CarterTank55 wrote: ↑Sun Mar 05, 2023 9:11 amExactly? Ray spent a season with the Jets and then went back to have a HOF career. What did he sacrifice for that 2004 season in the NFL?DavedaHammer wrote: ↑Sun Mar 05, 2023 3:34 am It's happened before to better QBs like Ricky Ray and Bo Levi Mitchell

Re: Nathan Rourke to begin working out for NFL teams
Rourke's dream is to play in the NFL. He didn't grow up a CFL fan. If he plays this CFL season, he can't play in the NFL until 2024. It's a no brainer to try now.DavedaHammer wrote: ↑Mon Mar 06, 2023 1:31 amIt's difficult when the NFL coaches have biases against Canadian Football. Yes, it's not a guarantee. He might not make it. He might miss out on a Grey Cup opportunity. But he'll have chased his dream. There's nothing wrong with that.

The question is will Rourke be the same when he comes back to the CFL? Shattered dreams shatter men of fanciful flights. The kid could've been the face of the league, instead he is just another faceless guy in the sea of countless football playersKJE wrote: ↑Mon Mar 06, 2023 11:43 amRourke's dream is to play in the NFL. Alex Singleton just signed an $18-million contract in the NFL. In one season, he makes more than an entire CFL team. Very much worth the try.DavedaHammer wrote: ↑Tue Mar 14, 2023 12:27 amThe question is will Rourke be the same when he comes back to the CFL? Shattered dreams shatter men of fanciful flights. Anyway, clearly we won't convince each other to switch sides so I'm done with this topic.

Rourke just wants that check to cash. As he said, the CFL was an "unexpected stopgap" on his way to the NFL. He isn't the first and won't be the last, it is what it is.DavedaHammer wrote: ↑Tue Mar 14, 2023 12:27 amThe question is will Rourke be the same when he comes back to the CFL? Singleton has paid his dues playing in the CFL. He also won the CFL Defensive player of the year in '17. Rourke only won 8 games. Hardly substantial cache to parley into a multi-million dollar deal Singleton garneredKJE wrote: ↑Tue Mar 14, 2023 8:30 amAlex Singleton just signed an $18-million contract in the NFL. What is? Is that Rourke left a bigger cheque to cash from outside endorsement deals with Canadian corporate sponsors. He would've made a million more being a pitchman for a couple of weeks work filming commercials, ad campaigns, radio/internet spots. Rourke would've overtaken Sidney Crosby as a visible ad spokesman in Canada. Even Bieber got a deal with Timmy's and he isn't an athletelaxtreme56 wrote: ↑Tue Mar 14, 2023 9:36 amRourke just wants that check to cash. Bumped because he made his NFL debut today in a preseason game against the Cowboys and he did this:
